Hello all.
Would just like to know how are the admission tests for all 3 local international schools like? Iβm hoping that my DD can enter it at grade 11 but selection seems stringent?

RE: Q&A - PSLE Math
Hi! please help

In a time trial a cyclist wanted to reach an average of 25km per hour between two towns A and C which are 10km apart. A village, B, is sited exactly halfway between A and C and is reached after a long climb up from A. When the cyclist had climbed up to B she calculated that her average speed so far was only 20km per hour. How fast must she ride on the descent from B to C if she is to attain the overall average speed of 25km per hour? -

At the same time, Jason and Melvin started from Town B and walked towards Town A at a speed of 80m/min and 75m/min respectively. 1) It takes 12 men to make 12 tables in 9 hours. How long will it take for 8 men to make 32 tables?
1 man makes 1 table in 9hrs.

32 table is 4 times of 8 tables. Since the men cannot be increase, the time will increase 4 times
Therefore 8 men make 32 tables in 36 hours,

Solution to Q1:PollutedS:
Hi all! Please help with these questions. Thanks!

1) The marked price of a television set is $715. At this price, the shopkeeper can make a profit of 30% on the cost price with each television set sold. If he allows a discount of 10% off the marked price for cash payment, calculate his actual percentage profit.
2) Start with $20. What is the resulting amount if decrease by 100% and then decrease by a further 100%?
130% of cost price = $715
100% of cost price = 100*$715/130 = $550
Therefore cost price of TV set is $550
10% of $715 = $71.50
New sale price after 10% discount = $715-$71.50=$643.50
% profit from new sale price = (New sale price - cost price)/cost price*100
=(643.50-550)/550*100
=17%
For Question 2, answer will be -$20 -
