Public service announcement:
The One-Time SkillsFuture Top-Up in 2020 expires on 31 Dec 2025!
For those who were 21 and older in 2020, you will have received this top-up. It’s the only tranche of SkillsFuture Credit that expires. If you haven’t used them yet, there’s still a few months to take a course or two.
Note: The opening amount of $500, and the $4000 Mid-Career credits do not expire, so if you haven’t used them yet, there’s no great hurry.
If you plan to take SkillsFuture courses soon (whether to use up the expiring credits or other credits), please share them here! It may give others an idea of what they could try.
I’ll start: I’ve just applied to take a 2-day WSQ Digital Copywriting & Content Writing Course at Equinet (still waiting for confirmation). Since I’m over 40, after all the subsidies, it costs just under $300 which I’ll use my credits to pay, which leaves me with about $200 which I think I’ll have to allow to expire. One of my colleagues suggested that we try a baking course, but I’m not sure if we will get round to it. I also explored taking a course on mending (clothes), but it’s part of a full “artisan” course which is too long and too complex for me, and they won’t let me just take that individual course.
