After your daughter's PSLE is over, ask her overall, how she fare, per paper ?

She herself will know how she fared, because after each Psle paper is over, her fellow classmates / school mates will discuss which Psle question in each paper (subject) is easy or challenging / tough.

After PSLE exam over in October, she will have plenty of time to think over, to accept or to reject the 2nd school CO, non MGS, if she is half hearted, inspite of the fact that she did apply for DSA, and is successful.

You have 2 choices.

1) if die die only want MGS, not any other school, then
put WL (MGS) down, exclude your 2nd school CO,

Because

In the event your WL (MGS) is not converted, then Moe will route your daughter to the CO (2nd school). And u can say bye, bye to MGS, forever.


2) But, if you don't mind CO (2nd school), then put

a) WL (MGS)

b) CO (2nd school)


In the event your WL (MGS) gets converted, Congratulations, your girl will enter MGS. Otherwise, your girl will enter 2nd school CO,
and

she is not allowed to participate in S1 posting based on AL score, anymore.

When are you supposed to make your WL decision ? Not now, but after your Psle is over.

Not sure how many places were available for your particular sport, but based on common knowledge about the top schools, it’s literally less than 5 per year (or none at all).

So the number of applicants (10) does not matter. What mattered is whether your child was the top 3 in SG (if Eg. there were 3 places available). Maybe she just fell outside their quota, that’s why WL was given. The reality is cutthroat competitive.

If you have your heart set on MGS, just put it as your 1st choice, and the CO school as your 2nd choice. If any of the 3 COs (or whatever number offered CO) give up their CO (for example choose another CO school as their 1st choice), then your WL may be converted to CO on PSLE results day. If the WL is not converted, then you will go to the 2nd choice. Still good, provided you like that 2nd choice school (otherwise why would you try right?)

Not yet. I called the school and they told me over the phone that result will only be out 13th Sept. My friend's DD received CO after the deadline last year. So she told me to expect MGS to reply after 13th Sept
