Time to tell the maid that we will not be renewing her contract and will most likely let her go earlier.

I am ding donging between going maidless and getting a replacement. DH insists on getting a maid while kids and myself think that it is manageable without one. On top of that, maid's salary these days are not low and I am not one who will hire a freshie and train from scratch. I need one who is already trained and can work independently. So salary for the maid will most likely be about $700. If I get one who is good and reliable for this amount, still ok but in the long run we will still have to consider going maidless as it will come a point where it does not make sense paying someone so much to mainly clean house.

wow ! i din know maid salary has escalated so much - last i heard was $550 ( my collegaue/fren current maid)
but a hawker told me her new maid is $600 ( no exp) !
yep, i think part timer is cheaper - come in to mop, clean bathroom, . include iron whole house whole maybe par-timer needs to come in twice a week

My part time cleaner comes in twice a week. 4 hours one stretch. Each stretch is $85. Thus each month is $680. More or less the same as stay in maid but I value the freedom and privacy more.

My mum is showing signs of dementia and her mental health has deteriorated tremendously over a period of 6 months. Although she is 76 years old now, she will only remember things that happened 30 to 40 years ago. She will walk around her neighborhood looking for her son who has gone for disco. Her son, my brother is currently in his 40s and is a banker. Then she will go to my kids primary school waiting for my son who is now in Polytechnic. She does all this on her own without informing us hence we are caught unaware each time. She is driving my dad nuts, often accusing him of being indifferent and bo chap about anything. What can we do to improve her life better?

Looking for English enrichment class for P4. Particularly on Compo and compre. Any good recommendation? How is TWC Tampines or PP?

Though I have an elder boy who had undergone NS, I could not recall exactly when he received the registration notice.
His birth month is Mar and he was enlisted in Jan after completing his A levels.

My second boy's birth month is Sept and we have not received any NS registration notice, by snail mail or email.

Anyone's child's birth month is also Sept and HAS RECEIVED the notice?

Does NS enlistment date/month co-relate to the birth month?

My DS birth month is in May and have already received the notice to register for his deferment. It seems like most of his classmates have already received so I am uncertain whether it is according to birth month.
