If you have better chance of getting into Kellock, it's safer to register there first...then write in to be on wait-list for IJ TP.

I was in a dilemma last year between IJ TP and Kellock...was in Kellock for 8 months before I transferred to TP (1984). In the end, decided on IJ TP bcos secondary is just beside.
All the best.

Hi thanks for the info. :rahrah:
Just wondering how come u were also in same dilemma between IJ TP and Kellock?
On what grounds was the transfer from Kellock to TP approved? would u have any idea how long the wait list is or your chances of getting transferred to TP? How to \"increase\" chances of success at transfer? :xedfingers:

There was a vacancy in IJ Kellock for me back in 1983...IJ TP was still being built then. So I had the option of staying at Kellock or moving to TP in 1984 (pioneer batch of P6). Which is why I was 'lucky' to be able to choose between IJ Kellock and TP for my daughter last year. As for transfer, sorry I have no idea how long it would take.
Thanks for sharing! :thankyou:

Have you checked the balloting history of both schools esp for last year ?

IJ TP required balloting for those staying out of 2km (2B). If you have better chance of getting into Kellock, it's safer to register there first...then write in to be on wait-list for IJ TP.

Hi, can anyone share whether how is the standard of teachers/academic performance for CHIJ Kellock? i am thinking of registering my girl there under Phase 2B but as compared to CHIJ Toa Payoh Primary, the latter’s affliated Secondary school seems to be better than the affiliated Secondary School of CHIJ Kellock.

In terms of travelling/distance, CHIJ Kellock is nearer to our place (although both schools are >2km).
In terms of priority/chances of getting into either schools, our application for both CHIJ Kellock and CHIJ Toa Payoh will be under Phase 2B but perhaps Kellock does not require balloting while TP will most likely require balloting.
Should i take the chance to ballot at CHIJ TP or should i take the chance to send my girl to Kellock and hope that she does well enough to get into a good Secondary School based on her grades at PSLE (with the hope that the teachers at Kellock are good)?
