RE: Pei Chun Public
Hi,
Any idea if the form teachers or level head will write to inform what to bring on 1st day? -

Hi!papamoses:
Hi!
Anyone know what is the minimum/average percentage for getting into 5A and 5B? When will we know the streaming results?
This was based on my memory of a couple years ago (my DD's year) so it may be slightly different now.
The streaming results were released in December (roughly the last two weeks or so).
As for the criteria, roughly the top 4/5 of each class in P4 will end up in 5A (about high 80s for percentage min.) while those just below will go to 5B.
Yes, we have gotten posting and what Belle77 said is true. -

Gotten CL compo markings? Strict or lenient?

RE: Pei Chun Public
All covered as far as I know. Some got 100 too. Average for my child’s class if not wrong, is 74 or 79 according to teacher.

Thanks for all the contribution. Heard P4 Eng compo badly done and so far no news yet.

RE: Pei Chun Public
Anyone with compo marking to share on SA1? I heard marked by other teachers instead of own.

RE: Pei Chun Public
I agree with muska that Pcps teaches very little on compo and expect a lot. Not many compositions to write in a semester. The most 5 before SA1. My P4 child had 3 so far. The good and the bad differs a lot, took home some by accident. The normal ones for English get around 12 or 13 and the better ones at 14.5-17. It is so difficult to score as compos are subjective and we don’t get to see their mistakes during exams. However, I do remember their work will be marked by 2 teachers. Don’t know if this still stands. Anyway, just have to get our children do better for the rest of the papers…

He’s absolutely right, they move abt after an hour of English AS. I never heard of pupils opting out of AS tho. I thought it was compulsory. Do not worry of the banding. If your child does well this year, he will be in different AS class next year. They are reviewed yearly.

RE: Pei Chun Public
All same timing but go to their respective class. They would have already know by now where to go. Pcps no positioning so with banding, you can roughly gauge where your child is. MO1 and MO2 for Math Olympiad(thru invites) and then normal Math, M1-M7. English ~ E1-E9
