Thanks all for answering to my question! Sorry, I haven't been checking in the forum for a while. My kids are more or less familar with all the individual alphabet sounds.
Am moving on to teaching them simple blending during school holidays. Such a pity Tamarind blog is not longer available. Am wondering how I should proceed from here. Just started Peter and Jane readers for my kids. Everything is a bit late for my elder as she is going to Primary One next year. The good news is she loves Peter and Jane and keeps rushing me to let her read on.

RE: All About Teaching and Learning Phonics
Hi experts here,
thanks for your guidance especially Tamarind and Bud for being so generous in sharing. I am trying to teach my kids phonics but am confused with the sound of letter a. From starfall I hear it as "arh" but from leapfrog dvd I hear it as "air". I recalled when my dd attended phonics class at krtc, the teacher told me letter E and A both sounds the same and it was "air".
Anyone can enlighten? I was not taught phonics when I was young. It seems like learning English for me all over again. LOL
