Rea:Hi, Rea, my P2 girl is in the school team for RG. Their team was officially formed at the second week of this new school year, and they would be trained intensively to get ready for national competition in April this year. Some of her team mates are selected from recreational RG which they attended during P1, and some of the girls that trained along with her in P1 special CCA (they don't send P1 team for competition, so it is not a official school team yet, the coach just grill them for selection in the following year) did not get into the official school team this year.My girl just started with MCS. She just received the form to choose CCA.
Anyone here with their girl in Rhythmic Gymnastics(RG), esp in the school team? My daughter is keen and has been attending RG outside for about a year already. However, she wasn't picked by the school coach. I don't know if i should still let her try it as recreational CCA or opt for others. Would appreciate any feedback and advice.
So yes, I would encourage your girl to take up RG as the recreational batch, which will be trained once a week. If the coach see her improvement, she will be invited to join the special CCA team, which will be trained twice per week. RG is a sport that need long hour of training (in fact all CCA that represent school does), it will put the girls through tests on their commitment, perseverance, diligence and determination. Some girls would give up along the way as the training is quite tough, and some shown much improvement with the training. So don't give up at the starting point, her passion and hard work in RG will bring her to the best level she could achieve.
