DH is the ex-student and he insist to join alumni to double secure a place for DD (born in2006) however I think is not necessary. We have decided to monitor this year registration b4 making a decision. Do u mean tat it will be too late for us to join alumni if we decide to do so after this year registration result? :xedfingers:

Oh me too! I hate washing toilets.

There is a mini scooba from irobot that can clean toilet floors. It's not yet available in Singapore but is recently released in US. It manages only the floor so you'll still have to wash the toilet bowl, basin and walls yourself.

After I wash toilet I will feel totally exhausted :gloomy:
Washing toilet bowl =drain 20% energy
Washing basin n mirror= drain 10% energy
Scrub toilet wall and shower screen =40% energy gone
Wash toilet floor =30% energy gone
Clear toilet drainage = drain 10 % energy

If the mini scooba can only take away 30% of my workload then i am not looking forward to it's release in Singapore

I guess getting a part time maid or asking DH to wash the toilet is still the best solution at the moment. :pokeeye:

My kids are still in kindy, and I do send them for enrichment lessons, more to get them out of my hair for awhile.

This is one thing I do not understand, aren't teachers suppose to teach and help weaker students to improve? I understand there are 40 students per class, but I think there's something fundamentally wrong when teachers suggest to parents to send their kids for tuition.

I mean, it's ok if parents wish to send their kids to tuition, it's their choice. But for a teacher, whose profession is to teach, to suggest it, I just feel that it's weird. I mean it's their responsibility to ensure that their students understand the work.

Do the teachers expect the students to understand what it's being taught immediately. If they don't, then it's off to tuition centre and not extra time with teachers? I know teachers are a busy lot but teaching is the basis for the profession.

I really don't know how you guys cope unless your hubbies are earning 5 figure sums. I feel my hubby is already quite well-paid but he is just insecure.

I have been a stay-at-home even before my DD1 is born and my DH is not earning 5 figure sums. The reason I choose to stay at home is coz I feel less stress n happier at home. B'coz of this reason I am willing to live a simple life n renounce materialism. :imanangel:
We did make a lot of financial adjustment n my DH agree with me that a fulfilling life is more impt than $$ :hugs:

Very simple - move school hours to evenings. The Singapore kids are mostly night owls anyway.

Classes start at 7pm, ends at 10.30pm. They can have afternoon classes of PEs and other non-core subjects like Art or excursions or community projects or even CCAs, but the core lessons of subjects or topics will be held from 7pm to 10.30pm.
The kids can still have their 9 to 10 hours of sleep in the form of afternoon naps before school begins.

My boy is in p2. There is no p1 banding Chinese test. Don worry. He enjoys going to school, I think the teachers are doing a good job.

My DD is going nan hua in 2013 n I heard there will be P1banding test for Chinese only to see their lvl … Dun know how true… Can some parent enlighten please ?

Does that mean only 1 kid din make it to secondary sch?
