    • RE: Secondary School Selection 2013

I would advise every parent to go to their child’s posted sec school website. All the schools would have updated info on Monday’s reporting for Sec One this weekend.

Thanks, is there anything we need to bring to prove her identity in sec school?

To tag on to this, may I know what are the documents we need to bring on reporting day during registration?

      Thks.[/quote]
Your child's name would already be in the posted school's register. Just put on his/her pri sch uniform (for the last time) and attend a short briefing, and maybe purchase sec sch uniforms and books so may have to bring some cash .

The 0.2 and 0.4 classes have been HA classes for past 2 years for p3 to p6. The 5.4 abd 6.4 classes are HA and HMT classes. There is no difference bet the HA classes. 4.6, 5.6 and 6.6 are SBC classes. Few girls may be invited into 5.6 based on p4 results.

Thank you. This is a wonderful piece of info.

      hi all

Anyone have any idea which are the High Ability (HA) and Mixed Ability (MA) classes for P3 and P4 next year?
4.6 is the SBC class, 4.2 and 4.4 are the HA classes. I'm just perplexed as what's the diff in standards bet the two HA classes - which class consists of higher ability students?

Do you people want to consider SJI whose COP was 245 ? Nan Chiau is 240.

SJI will be shifting to Bishan for the next 2 years and abit far off. We would have considered the school if it were at Malcom Rd.

      BB KS mummy:
Hi all. Interesting to read this thread with all kind of info on schools. My ds get 245 for his psle. I m leaving him to make his own decision since he is gg to spend the next 4 yrs there. His preference of choice will be :

1st : Victoria school O level route (with COP of 246)
2nd : Anglican high with COP of 242
3rd : Chung cheng high with COP of 239

Hope to hear smthing (whether positive or negative) frm u parents abt tis schools.
Same score as my DS. I think will have a very good chance for VS! Where do you stay?

    • RE: Secondary School Selection 2013

DS got 245 and has insisted on going to his dream school - ACSI (express). With COP of 249 (non-affiliation), we feel the chance would be very slim. We visited Chung Cheng High and liked the ‘hardware’ of the school. Wonder how is the school’s ‘software’ like? Distance might be a little of concern as we are staying in Queenstown area. Anyone can comment if DS’ list below is wise?:

      1st choice: ACSI (express)
      2nd choice: Victoria School
3rd choice: Chung Cheng High (Main)
      4th choice: Nan Hua High

    • RE: Travel: Thailand - Chiangmai and Chiangrai

Will be bringing kiddos (9-13) for a trip to Chiang Mai between 3-7 Dec on Free & Easy. Accommodation (Royal Princess Hotel) and air tickets (Thai Airway) are booked online. Now still looking out for a local English-speaking guide cum driver to bring us around.

I’m planning to have the 1st day exploring the city. Is it possible and safe to walk around the city visiting places like the Moat and the 3 Kingdoms?

Would like to engage a local guide/driver for a day-trip to the outskirts like Elephant Camp, Tiger Kingdom, and some handicraft villages etc.

Also, a long day trip to Chiang Rai to see the Golden Triangle and Opium Museum.

Is it better to get the guide when there? I’ve emailed to 3-4 reputable ones but there has been no respond. From their websites, the day tours don’t come cheap too. Anyone can recommend?

One last issue - should I get the public taxi at the airport, or use the guide’s service for transfers?

      Thanks in advance!
