Is maid agency supposed to help complete all paper work and online application needed and employer and maid just sign?

Yup. For appearance, I believe local agent plays an important role.
I met 2 local agents who insist their maid keep a very short hair. (Is like a boy)
Even i feel surprise. The 2 maids from there are working fine.

I intend to change my FDW as soon as possible and hope parents out there could recommend good maid agents for me to hire next FDW.

I must agree that most Filipino maids speak better English and many of them command higher salary and ask for every Sunday off, PH also entitled. My first maid was Filipino but she has got attitude problem, so send her away after less than 2 mths. She is too experienced and worked with the ang moh for too long.

Any good and reliable maid agencies to recommend?

My one I told her be back before 10 pm which I regretted becoz she won’t have enuff rest the next day and work performance dropped. Then on several occasions even come back after 10pm so mad with her. Now slight improvement is she came back just before 10pm. Shd have told her to be back by 7pm then. Now hard to change she has no heart to change either.

totally agree that we can’t be too nice to the maid and must definitely be strict with them and not too much freedom. My current maid we are in the situation whereby I could not tolerate anymore. She uses her hp heavily, waste water,like to request to go out to run her personal errands on normal work days, make ridiculous requests ( e.g. Want to go home leave during hari Raya on her 5th mth w us, want to go see new year fireworks), not clean with housework. All these we can keep our eyes close. But recently she stolen money from us which help me make the decision to terminate her as soon as we got a relacement. We paid her quite well above market rate, but she is a spendthrift… Saw that her cupboard is full of her shopping and she is even taking expensive health supplements. Really can’t stand it anymore having to feed a thief in the house.

I too, had my share of problems with maids. Recently i have sent my maid away about 3 weeks ago, and engaged a really gd PT maid. i thought things were going well, but unfortunately i was so busy that i hardly have time for my kids. When i reach home, i have to be busy with housework, and in order to quickly finish my stuff, I had to put them in front of the TV so i can do my things undisturbed. I feel so lousy! As my hubby is usually busy and also tired when he's back, I dont get much support.. on weekends too because i gotta wake up early and prepare breakfast & lunch for everyone. Sigh... isn't it a dilemma?

At least now you do not have to worry about the maids issues.

Oh my… i just chanced on this thread. NO MAID IS BLISS!!! I'd rather put up with all the inconveniences than to have maids ever again!


Anyway, I used to cook but decided I'd rather spend more quality time with my family than to waste time in the kitchen cooking and washing. The money saved from hiring a maid can be used to have a sumptuous meal outside with the family.
