      Miracle Child:

Can parents of past DSA applicants share on what will be tested for English and Chinese? Thanks in advance.

For last year, I remember Chinese was 2 comprehension. For English, I only remember part of it - the students were given an article on the Anton Casey incident and were asked to write a diary as if they were Anton Casey himself.

      Hope this helps.

Sorry, I was wrong. For last year, there was a writing and one comprehension. Apologies for the confusion.

Thank you everyone for the reply.

My dd will be going for the Group Interview on 11 July. May I know whether the interview is conducted in English only, or could be in both English and Chinese? Many thanks.
It was both for my son's case last year.

Any idea how many pupils is HCI taking in via DSA?

Took in 200 for last year DSA, 50% of the total intake.

Quick question. Do have kids need to wear school uniform everyday? Even on PE days. Thanks.

Can enter via Gate 3 and drop off along the driveway/clock tower side, but traffic can be heavy too. And if you are U-turning to head towards the city (after you exit via Gate 2), there can be a long queue. For Gate 3 drop off along the drive way,i think you need to arrive before 7, or 710?

I've found that the best way to avoid the heavy traffic is to arrive before 650 - 655 am.
      Thank you!

My son is in HCI Sec one this year. I send him to school before going to work. The traffic at gate 4 was very heavy today. Is there only one more entrance at Gate 3? How’s the situation there? Thanks.

This is how I see it.

      If your DC is using

DSA: The school chooses your DC.
(Many GEP students with good grades may also get rejected.)

PSLE T-Score: Your DC chooses the school.
(provided that the score meets the cutoff point)

well, if only it is so simple to fathom, then this forum topic would not exist.
From all the posts and hearsay from other DSA parents, there are many qualities that certain schools are looking for.
Not just best academic or sports results.
Come to think about it, I think they can already get the best academic results students from the PSLE T-score.
      Agree.
My son is not in school team nor received formal training. We decided to try sports DSA as he has the potential. He cleared the sport trial and eventually received a CO.

COs from HCI (DSA academic) dated 22 Agu 14 have been emailed to parents.

Same with sports domain. My son received a CO. MS through sports 😄
