I'm very out of touch. My DS is interested in med. I was told in the past, the boys would go to med school (if selected), then they go to NS. Is this still the case? If they go to NS first, then when do they need to apply for the med degree? After they get their results? DS is currently in NUSH Year 5. It's still early but I thot I shd at least be clear when he shd apply for the degree course.

The boys would apply just like their cohort/female classmates in the same batch, and if offered, it is up to mindef to give them disruption. Applying with their cohort is to lock in their places so they pay the current fee... not the fee couple of years later after NS = higher fee. Scan through 2020 thread? all info are there.

I guess nobody in this same cohort will share publicly since they are competiting against each other. I think they will only share with their close friends now and publicly only when this whole thing is over.

can I know if the Uni look at RP or IGP first? For eg, if RP 88.75 AAA/A vs 88.875 with AAA/B. Which one will have better chance?

I think the concern is not so much on the RP or IGP.
is the interview that plays an important part. From what I heard.
there are applicants who did not get in with 90RP compare to someone who got 87 or 88 but got the place.

i heard the same, especially of NUS last year. Seem to be diversifying their intake to non traditional sources. Take it that whatever is stated as entry requirement has a weightage and will be scrutinized loh.

I think usually the civics tutor reference is good to have during the application period, it will be compulsory to have after the interview. So really no need to waste time chasing at the beginning.
