You already enrolled him in Learning Bliss? How did you do that? I called the school admin, they told me to wait till orientation.
Hi, my daughter will be going to class 1B next year. Anyone in the same class? Any recommendations for after-school care? Most important criteria is they make sure home work is done.

      Thanks!

Hi, my son is in class 1C. I've enrolled him in Learning Bliss. 1st consideration for me is, it's within the school compound, so I don't need to worry about him going out of the school. According to the daily schedule, they do guide the kids to do their home work. You may want to find out more. ๐Ÿ˜„
I read in this forum that each level they only take in abt 2 classes. So after we successfully registered our son for NYPS, my hub and i went down to the toh tuck campus to check out Learning Bliss. I quite like the staffs there and and their programme, so we registered for my son that day. Paid deposit. Need to pay the other fees on orientation day.

Dear parents, for boys, may I know if NPYS require them to wear school shoes with laces or they allow Velcro?

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

      POA Teacher:
Am not knowledgeable about this, but from reading the above extracts, it's clear to me that something's wrong. Para 5.3 is about returning the FDW to agency (which can happen only AFTER the FDW has been \"placed to the employer\", but Para 5.1 is about the period BEFORE the FDW has been \"placed to the employer\".

Wah!! how can the refund be based on placement fee of 2 mths' salary, when the amount of the fee paid to them is many months' salary.

The agency gave you a copy of the contract in advance? I tired asking for that before, but all agencies, except one, refused. Of course I took the maid from that agency. But that was years ago.
Thanks for your response. I also find it contradicting hence I thought if the intend is to make reference to the period, then just point direct to the clause.

Yah, they have to give coz the employer is my grandpa (not at the EA when we went) while I'm the sponsor.

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

Hi all, need your advice. Here's the clause of my contract with the employment agency (EA) regarding refunds.

      http://i44.tinypic.com/35n1t7o.jpg\">

      (1) circled in red: I think the \"period\" refer to the \"from the Agency within 1 Months\" (in clause 5.1.2) and not the \"within 90 days\" (in clause 5.1.1). If so, should I ask the EA to amend \"under clause 5.1\" to \"under clause 5.1.2\" for clarity?

      (2) circled in purple: When I verbally asked EA whether the placement fees is refundable upon termination of contract (and we decided not to go for replacement), the answer is \"Yes\". The FDW's placement fees is 6 months of her salary. Hence, should I ask the EA to amend to \"based on 6 months of the FDW's salary\"? Otherwise, we will be short-changed?

      Thanks in advance!

I sure hope it is just as good now too :). But manage your expectations. It is a standard tourist class maybe 4 star hotel, not 5 star. I would have like equarius, but not prepared to pay such price for staycation.

I hv no idea what other programs lah. My kids always just hang around at home and entertain themselves. Holiday is really a break for them. Actually also because I don't want to trouble my parents who have to ferry them when they were young. Now the older ones in sec school, really have a lot of their own program. ๐Ÿ™‚

rws having a promotion package and equarius hotel is one of the hotel selection (or hard rock/hotel michel)! I just think that festive seems a fun-er deal with loft bed and all. promo price is $408 for 1 night stay during june holidays. includes 2 tickets to USS or water cove or SEA!

my one alone, hard to have fun la. that's why i think having more kids very good. i have to try to 'borrow' my friends kids during holidays to stay over!

      U see me good, I see u good ๐Ÿ™‚
I have 3 kids, so if stay Equarius will need 2 rooms otherwise they end up sleeping on floor or sofa :yikes: Festive one room enough for me already :). You have 1 kid then easy lor :)
Just had a staycation @ sentosa in Apr. Stayed @ Festive Hotel. My son really liked the loft bed. We went to the Adventure Cove (water theme park) and it was really fun. Try to be there early to beat the queue (open at 10am). The rainbow reef was a very memorable experience for me, though I have not done diving/snorkelling before, it was really enjoyable.

    • RE: Any Recommendation of a Good Maid Agency

Hi all, went down to a maid agency today. Am looking for maid to take care of my grandparents. Their agent fee is 1288, admin fee is 248 (for ex), insurance is abt 300. Free replacement within 6 months but stll need to pay admin fee and insurance. They seemed quite open with the maid history, have included a copy of maidโ€™s employment record from mom, so we donโ€™t need to check it ourselves. They also included a copy of the maid passport in the bio data.

Coz this is our first agency, we told the person in charge that we need to consider. As we were walking out, there were maids sitting around and at least came over to open the door for us with a smile. We asked if these maids were waiting for transfer and he said yes. He added that they do not have elder care experience, hence did not recommend to us. Do you think it shows that heโ€™s ethical - donโ€™t just try to push any available one to us?

But one of my consideration is their fees seems quite ex. Also, I believe that a good agency does not equal a good maid.
