RE: SJI & Anderson Sec - Which is a better choice?
If you son joins CHS he may be overworked and become very stressed, which would not be good for the overall wellbeing of your child.
SJI open house is on the 16th July. Although I won’t be there… lol… -
Today when I tried to open the door to my son's room I realized it was locked. Then when I unlocked it I saw that he was wearing his school uniform. When I asked him he didn't reply. Anyone knows why?
Maybe he was trying to take a self-portrait via handphone, digital camera or webcam, to be used in school or post it on FB?
Haha I think so. Looks like I've got my answer already. -
RE: Hwa Chong Institution (High School)
It was 7 pm… why would he go to school? Seems quite strange but I think he feels embarrassed so I rather not talk to him about it.

RE: RI or HCI
In my opinion, RI is too overrated. Also, most of them are very proud. Well that is what I think. Hwa Chong has a better community overall.

RE: SJI & Anderson Sec - Which is a better choice?
I don’t know much about Catholic High so I won’t compare.
Religion in SJI doesn’t play a big part at all compared to other schools such as ACS and St Andrew’s. Your son doesn’t even have to take part in morning mass although he can choose to go. Besides more than 2/3 of the cohort are non-Catholic, including me.
SJI is quite a fun community. I would say the Peer Support Programme is worth going to SJI for. The orientation, is much different from other schools. During the orientation camp in Sec 1 it’ll be an awesome experience!
Also most of the teachers are very approachable and nice, although they have very different styles of teaching they are not unreasonable after you get to know them after some time.
EDIT:
If you’re afraid that your son wouldn’t have the chance to shine, in SJI, there’s quite a good chance that your son will take up a leadership position. Most likely if he works hard in his CCA he can become a Peer Support Leader nominated by his CCA teacher. In Uniform Groups (NPCC, NCC especially) if he actively takes part in the activities he’ll probably get one of the top leadership positions. -
RE: Catholic High School
The BURST thing sounds really scary. Why is it called "uniform"? Does it have to do with Uniformed Groups?
