    • RE: Any Recommendation of a Good Maid Agency

      Hi,

I and my wife are working full-time and wanted to find a maid to look after my kid. I have went through the thread posts in this forum for the past months and heard that good maid is hard to find. After searching around the internet for a while and asking enquiries from other maid agencies with regards to maid related matters, I finally got a Philipino maid that I have been looking for.

      To share my story…

Initially, I was looking for maid either from Myanmar or Indonesia. But after discussed with my wife, we decided to engage a philipino maid in considerating various factors such as cooking, daily cleaning, housekeeping , fetching my kid to school, tuition class, and of English-speaking qualities.

So far, our personal experience with this maid is of good quality and able to meet our expectations. To a certain extent, we are glad to find her. My kid likes her a lot and the Maid seems to be a perfect partner in our family.

Just to share our experience further…

We went to look for a sales manager called Ria (HP no: 8522 0161) at Far East Shopping Centre. She works for Sunshine Employment Services Pte Ltd. She is friendly and patient and willing to run through the biodata with us and provide us the details we require and address our concerns fully and always willing to inform us to seek clarifications if we require at anytime. We believe the quality service provided by her and the Maid agency truly speak all.

Hope that it helps the rest of the parents in this forum through our experience.

      Cheers,
      Raymond

      Dear mummies and Daddies,

      I'm in a dilemma.....pl help.

My child is due for P1 registration next year. I am still searching around the neighbourhood schools in Pasir Ris and happened to bound into this thread and seems like there are lots of parents facing similar issues when it comes to registration.

I am currently staying in Livia Condo and is within 1km of Elias Park and believe within 1km of Coral Primary too. Pl assist too as I am not sure of the MOE guidelines in terms of distance. I am interested in Pasir Ris Primary and wanted to enrol into their parent volunteer scheme, but received a letter from them about the letter of rejection. I am interested in St Hilda primary too.

So, among these schools, which is the preferred choice for my kid and the success application rate considering all factors such as distance, SAP, environment, facilities, transport, etc.

Please assist in this matter as I am really in a dilemma...

      Hi

Have you used onemap to identify which schools are within 1km and between 1-2km?

      Go to http://www.onemap.sg/index.html
use the SchoolQuery, find school near a building and click on your block. As there are a number of blocks in your condo, the distance from the school may slightly differ.

For those schools you are refering to,Coral primary is not fully subscribed by 2C and Elias Park has more take up rate.

      Please refer to history: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/pasir-ris

You may have to drop St Hilda and Pasir Ris as it seems both are more than 2km from your home (if you are thinking of 2C for both schools).

Your area should also be near to tampines:

      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/tampines

Please note that primary school registration doesn't start from phase 2C. It's very often parents doesn't consider the earlier phases like the parents' primary school that limit their own choices.

Anyway, use onemap to identify all the schools within the vicinity. Then look at the historical stats to mark out those under \"no chance\", \"need balloting\" and \"high chance\" (this can be quite certain but we name it high so that we don't jinx it :rotflmao: )

With the schools identified and classified, you may want to assess each of the schools by visiting them or ask on each of the school's thread to find out more.

The above can be a good starting point for you.

      All the best!

Using One Map and Block 75 Livia as a gauge, the following applies to you

Within 1km - Meridian Pri Sch, Park View Pri Sch, Elias Park and Coral Pri
1 - 2km - Gongshang, Tampines North, Casuarina Pri, Loyang Pri and Poi Ching.

I suggest that you make your choice wisely and use those schools within 1 km to your advantage. Elias Park is clearly one of the better ones but they are also very hot. You may refer to the statistics for 2015 Pri 1 registration as a gauge. My DS went to one of the schools thus I am rather familiar with them. As for those 1-2km, the better ones are Gongshang and Poi Ching. However your chances are rather slim as historically only those within 1km will get to ballot. Same thing for St Hilda's Pri Sch. How I know is because I have just registered my DD for SHPS and will be going for ballot tomorrow.

      Hope the above helps!

      ylk:
My child is P4 now. I am happy with the way the school has nurtured my child and provided a happy environment. She looks forward to coming to school and always has happy stories to share about her teachers and friends. She is a Prefect and recently led the school in pledge-taking. It was a proud moment for both of us. The school not only pays attention to the academics, she also learns other things like ukulele, drumming and chess. I have no regrets putting my child in LPS.
