hi for Pri 1 parents, do anyone will be putting their kid in table tennis? My boy shows huge interest and i wonder will i kill his passion for cca if i disagree. so thought of signing him up.

Hi I hv signed up my boy for table tennis as well. Don't like the training schedule tho. Sunday 1:30pm...quite rush for us since we have church service ended at 12:30pm. Still toying the idea to take up or not.

I find it strange that the boys are ask to write down the answers before attempting those qns on their own. I wld prefer him to bring home and complete it as homework first. Next lesson then show them the answers. Now I hv to ask him to erase off the answers before asking to complete it at home.

My boy Chinese has never studied hypy in his kindergarten time, so base on his ting jie and words he is able to read from text book. To be honest I am impress and happy he is able to.

Next week is test, I wonder how they going to test. Kind of worry, coz his Chinese is simply not his interest.
DS told me yesterday that his teacher clarified that the HouPengYou answers are meant for those boys who don't know how to do. They can answer the qns on their own in class and then verify the answers in the projector. It is good and relieved to hear that.

My boy is in 1D too. I have asked him about Chinese class. He say from the text book 1A they will turn to hypy section and they will follow the teacher pronounce the sound accordingly. The teacher will give a paper and they will write down example like spelling words. As for hao Peng you, the teacher will put on projector and ask is the answer 1 or 2. Then he will write on the white board. The kids will circle accordingly.

My DS teacher will email to us on Fri evening on what they have taught the past weeks and what they gonna do next week etc.....
Well it is each teacher's preference style of updating the parents. Be it daily or weekly, I appreciate each of the teacher's update. It is enjoyable. I always look forward to read her email.

Hi this is my first post here. My DS is Pr1 this year. Something has been bothering me for the past few days. My DS told me that his Chinese teacher has been asking them to copy answers from the whiteboard during the chinese lessons. He has been doing this for the last 2 issues of \"Hou Peng You\". When asked if he was given time to attempt those qns on his own before copying the answers. He said \"No\". When asked if the teacher explained the answesr to the boys and again he replied \"No, we just copied them down\". I checked his work, there were answers written by DS but these are not his work but the teacher's. I am not sure what the teacher intention. While trying not to interfere the teacher's teaching, I am worried that DS is not learning anything during chinese lesson. I am in dilemma. Any parent having similar encounters in this school?

Hmm....I need to go home and ask my ds.

which class is your son in?

DS is in class 1D. Any parent from the same class? So far no chinese homework given. Also have not seen any chinese worksheet done and marked by his teacher. Am concern how my boy is doing for his chinese. On the contrary, his Eng/Math teacher Mdm Herni is v good. She updates us via email daily and am able to assess if DS is following her teaching. Kudos to her great job.
