Gone for 2 other trials. It’s always a shortlist already then they cut down further during the trials until it’s only a small group who eventually spars. Per domain they take only a handful so just give it your best and hope for the best.

New to this DSA. Can i check if anyone receive or did not receive any emails to attend trial for badminton at Chung Cheng High and Maris Stella? Wondering if for sports, all will got for first trial or there is a shortlisting process for first trial.

CCHS badminton trial email already out on 28 June. Trial on 19 Jul. Only shortlisted will go for 1st trial.

1 is main gate, 1 is Lokam gate (girl must get off and walk in on her own, zero waiting time).

It’s pri and sec sch along Lor Ah Soo so it’s a long queue understandably. Recommended to reach by 7.

Hi, any current parents here staying in Punggol? Don’t mind sharing logistics eg. pickup time for school bus, if not - travelling time for public transport, etc.
Balloting coming up, want to take all this into consideration before deciding. So hope to hear your views

I’m in Punggol. I see several other PL-lites in Punggol too, though most are in sec sch. We drive her to & fro so not sure about the sch bus. As for bus, 62 brings you to PL’s doorstep, abt 30-40 mins journey depending on traffic.

It’s a 10-15 mins drive at 6+ (pre-covid with normal traffic). Smooth the whole way, only have to queue to enter sch gates.

MOE does not do streaming in pri sch anymore. The direction is mixed ability classes. Subject based banding will also be the way going forward. Ranking etc are supposed to be done away with.

Upp pri. No ranking, no banding, mixed ability. But within the class, the children share their results with each other. Also, the top performers get selected for specialized programmes such as E2K math, math Olympiad etc. Bottom performers need to go for remedial. So it’s not difficult to gauge where your child stands.

Hi, current parent here. It's inevitable for a school like PL to not be academically driven so the answer is yes. But i wouldn't say it's overly so. My daughter isn't like super stressed out and is within the top in her class so I'd say the pressure is manageable but it's largely dependent on the child.

If you're looking for a sch that doesn't exercise academic rigour, it can't be such a sch.
