hi guys, one ultra stupid question. once we get confirmation of being accepted at the school (the green letter they mail to us w the orientation date on it), we don’t need to reply or acknowledge it right???

just had this crazy horrible thought pop into my head…

    • RE: Immunisation records for Pri 1 registration

do you think I should make the effort to get a PD to do this?

(i'm actually one of those mummies that don't bring my kids to PD... they usually see some GP if they are ill. touch wood, not often.)

I suppose with the PD consult rates... this should be one of the free services 🙂 the GP I spoke to made the effort to help me find out the email address for NIR but wasn't interested in certifying the records.

    • RE: Immunisation records for Pri 1 registration

      Hi

my DD was born overseas and took all (or most) of her jabs overseas. Was told by my GP (and also NIR staff) that I could email NIR with the overseas immunisation records (which frankly speaking, to me… looks quite …informal… apart from the stickers showing the batch number and expiry that they actually peel off from the bottle of vaccine they used! the name is haphazardly handwritten by the parent/doctor/nurse etc).

The idea is that NIR will then update our Sg database with it so that I can download and print off a "swee swee" local style copy for P1 registration exercise this July.

It’s been a whole week since I emailed them and NIR hasn’t replied me to say updated or not. I emailed MOE and here’s a quote frm the email

"We would like to share that you can still register your daughter during the Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, even if she has not completed the required immunisations."

So ah… my question is - if die die cannot get NIR to update in time, I can still rest easy right? pri school not gonna turn me away just cuz I don’t have the "correct" local style immunisation records right? technically speaking they can simply accept my overseas records? I’m pretty sure she has all the required immunisations done.

      Hi!

Hoping you nice kiasuparents can help me with my query!!!

My child will be under Phase 2A1 for PLMGPS - I joined alumni in 2012 and whilst my husband is PR my daughter is SC. I am not that familiar with the primary sch registration process as we have lived overseas for quite a number of years prior to this and I wasn’t really expecting to move back.

I checked out the statistics for PLMGPS on their website and on the KP website and for 2A1 everything looked quite promising UNTIL blur me suddenly realised that for this year’s registration exercise (2015 intake) there is this new "40 places for 2B and 2C" ruling that the govt has put into place. Meaning this will ‘eat’ into the number of vacancies available for Phase 2A ppl right?

Now qt worried the more I think about it… scared we may end up having to ballot… should I be?

Is it possible to get the stats of how many phase 1 and phase 2A folks versus school places there will be so that if there is even the slightest chance of balloting being required for 2A1 I can start to research other schools?

I have no idea of what should our 2nd choice school be, and obviously it’s too late now to do any parent volunteering. I live >2km from PL, near Lorong Chuan MRT.
