Would like to give away his text books (he also has quite a number of chinese novels that the school made them buy throughout his 4 years) especially those for upper sec (some lower sec too, tell me to see whether still have). Also, two sets of upper sec uniform (shirt size 15B, long pants size 28) and two PE shirts (size 32).

Any good 1 to 1 tutor to recommend for Chemistry and Physics? He/she must be inspiring, lively and will be able to interest the student who has lost his confidence in studies to a great extend.

My son is moving on to Sec 3 next year. If he is going for two sciences and two humanities, is it better to do (a) pure history and geography elective or (b) pure geography and history elective? And why? Hope to get some advices as we are quite lost.. :thankyou:

Hi parents, would like your advice. My boy (S2 in the school) de-proved a lot in this SA1. He failed his HCL and scored around C5 and C6 for other subjects (except Maths and Science, just touched A1). He does not want to have any tuition and does not want us to interfere with his studies. Once we talk to him, he will either throw tantrum or try to avoid us and say that he is not interested in study and would not mind to retain or dropout. He just wants us to leave him alone. We are rather worried now. If we totally leave him alone, we are afraid that he will not study at all! Is it common that boys will go through this rebellious stage? What shall we do now?

I understand that the whole cohort of NYJC is around 1800, so presumably 900 for each level. Could someone enlighten me how many places can be offered through DSA out of the 900? Does MOE impose a limit (%tage) like secondary schools?

Hi, thx for you reply. I asked this question is because NYJC has a list of CCAs for those who would like to DSA to them, but my son’s CCA is not in the list. So I am not sure whether they will consider students from CCHSM for DSA even his CCA is outside the list. I guess I would have to check with them. Thx.
