Indeed, freeloaders r all around us.

Rvians r pushed to study smart, to work well with teammates in their PW.
Perhaps yr child can approach the tchr-in-chg.

In RV, each student strives hard for academic excellence alongside their CCA achievements, no time to freeload leh šŸ˜‰

BTW, the junior highs do not use ipad anymore.
In this era, gadgets affect all pple.
Young or old; in sch or at work...

      Hi pdh & zhenghuaparent

      Assuming a normal sch day:
It is advisable to be @CCK Bus interchange by 6:10am, seats will be available if board at interchange. Yes, it is crowded during peak hrs.

The ride from CCK interchange to RV is approx. 35mins.
Apologies from my earlier post that it takes 25mins as I start my commute from home which is 10mins further from interchange, paiseh!
Diff students report to sch at diff time due to CCA/other commitments.
Please try out & plan your journey accordingly šŸ˜„

\"Do try out this route first as it can be rather \"long-winded\" during certain hours as the bus travels to Home Team Academy, Tengah Airbase and SCDF (???) before reaching RV side gate (just before Boon Lay Interchange/MRT).[/quote]\"

      Hi starlight1968sg
      No leh.
I commute via 172 every morning & its a smooth, straight forward ride to RV.
At times, 20mins we would reach its side gate.
I guess you need to plan your journey well.

      ZhenghuaParent:
Hello my DD may be joining RV next year šŸ˜„

May I ask which way of transport can she reach school in a shorter time? We live in the Bukit Panjang area (Bangkit)which is quite far 😢

      1) Home-> walk 10 minutes to Take Lrt 15 minutes to Choa Chu Kang MRT-> Take MRT to Boon Lay MRT-> take 1 bus stop of bus to the gate.

      2) Home-> walk 10 minutes to bus stop-> Take bus 5-10 minutes-> Transfer to bus 180 to Jurong Fire Station (Bus travelling distance is about 9km)-> Walk quite a distance to the gate.
      3) Home-> walk 10 minutes to bus stop-> Take bus 187 to Jurong Fire station (about 12.8km of bus travelling distance)-> walk quite a distance to the gate.

Or is there any other ways of transport she could take?

      Hi ZhenghuaParent

Take heart. BP is not very far from RV.
I agree with starlight that way 1) is the most ideal.
Once DD is familiar with the distance, she can walk to RV from Boon Lay MRT. Often times, a short 5mins walk is much faster than waiting/taking 1 stop to sch.

Alternatively, she can take bus 172 from CCK interchange.
This 25mins ride will bring her directly to the door-step (side-gate of RV).
The turn-tile gate is now equipped with a reader and students could scan their smart card and enter/exit with ease.
      Hope this help šŸ˜„

      happyandlucky:
Hi mummies, I am new and my eldest daughter was also a 2006 child.

I found this very interesting forum while searching for assessment books online.

My daughter studies in Pei Chun and her results become really bad in SA2.
I am very worried that she can't catch up next year.

Actually my girl enjoys reading but still, her writing is very poor. The highest she gets is only 16/20 for English and Chinese in her class work.
SA2, she scored below 16, very dissapointing. I do not know why because I thought children who read a lot should be able to write very well but not true for my daughter's case.

Which story books in your opinion is good for P4?
      Hi happyandlucky šŸ˜„

      I am new too!

SA2 really stressed out our kids.
Don't get too upset, I felt that as long as they are consistent in their daily school work & score generally well in their tests, they are ok.

Happy that your DD loves reading.
I find the Rainbow Magic books (MEA - Meadows, Daisy - author) appeal a lot to little girls.

Otherwise, Roald Dahl books (DAH - Dahl, Roald - author) are excellent.
I would recommend \"George's Marvellous Medicine\" or \"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory\" for a fun & hilarious start.

Enjoy & Happy Hols folks :imcool:

      Heelo parents šŸ™‚

It will be the sch hols soon!
May i ask those who've been to Sunway, did you have enough time to visit all 5 parks in 1 day?

A standard Sunway package incl 1 day pass to the 5 parks. I wonder how can we conquer so many rides/attractions in a day, considering its opening hrs, 10am - 6pm?

Can any experienced mummies/daddies share your day-out plan there?

Also, anyone knows when is Malaysia school holidays?

      :thankyou:
