    • RE: Bukit Panjang Government High School

As an old boy of BPGHS (89 – 92), I read this thread with great interest. I recall fondly a famous saying of our ex-Principal Mr. Yar Yee Har ‘No need to talk, let them see results’. Pretty cool, isn't it? 🙂 Still it is indeed a valid feedback that reviews are seemingly not forthcoming at least in the context of this forum. In this regard, thank you @Pearl8 for this timely reminder.

The maxim of ‘every school, a good school’ aside, we know that excellent schools top the tables because they have excellent teaching allied to selection from relatively top notch PSLE candidates, aspiring to get into them. That's something excellent schools would all acknowledge and one just can't get into that cohort unless he/ she meet the indicated cut off point.

Hence, I suggest each BPian (what we call ourselves) aspirant and parents to look at what results schools have with their respective cohorts (ie) what does BPGHS and its multiple decades-old alumnus have actually accomplished in their respective fields. And whether the final findings indicate that there are enough plus points of BPGHS to spark a passionate 'YES to BPGHS' in each BPian aspirant.

From available stats as well as what I've experienced during my years in BPGHS, our school is very ok on both counts and definitely a good school and beyond. Of course, one will have to form his/ her own opinions as he/ she find out more about BPGHS, then the decision may seem easy!
