Thanks Ryle. Yalor, my next round of worry will be next year.
DS commented that jie jie has set a very high benchmark for him n don't know if he can do as well as her!

RE: Scholarships - University
zbear:
Yes. But he is currently in NS and only start next year August. If she aiming to go NUS other than medicine, it is worth to consider.rylee:
Hi Zbear, think NUS USP is more about prestige I think. U need to spend at least 2 years in cinnamon college where u can mingle with others USP friends. Also there is a module to follow and need to achieve at least GPA 3.5 to remain in the programme. Upon graduate, there is an NUS scholar printed in the degree to identify u as a NUS scholar. This is what I know little about this programme.
Hi rylee, thanks for the info. I think your DS is in this programme?
DD received offer for the NUS USP n we are wondering if it's worthwhile to accept.
What do u think? -

They might fluff it up a bit but from my POV, NTU USP is just a bunch of modules. NTU USP and CNYSP are both scholar's programs. CNYSP is only for science/engin students and is more practical. Some mods they take are significantly different from the mainstream students and they do take slightly more workload.
NTU USP however is pretty much a joke. Its just different modules that USP students can take. Overall however, they don't take more modules. I wouldn't even say that these modules are more difficult. Some are just writing classes. And I can find modules that are similar to these USP modules but have more content and more workload. Or just similar content. Take the USP for the name and \"prestige\". But on top of that, it really doesn't add any value whatsoever. I'd prefer a first-class over a second-upper USP student any day.
Thanks for sharing. What about NUS USP? Any comments?
