Coaching our kids is such a long journey, now it is longer than I expected. I always tell my kids last time mummy studied on her own, your grandparents could not help mummy and mummy survived, why couldn’t you study on your own? They will say, that is last time! Come to think of it, maybe that is the cause - they have someone to rely on, either parents or tuition teacher! Whereas we had no choice! We either ask school teacher or friends or maybe older siblings!

Thanks slmkhoo and jjxy mum for the kind advice. True, I should let go slowly. I guess I was too eager to let go after going through the stressful PSLE. Sigh…my kids r not motivated to study on their own, and I hv to keep pushing them, really tiring… I was looking forward to dd1 going sec 1now it dawn on me tt I can’t wash my hands off her yet! Sob sob!

Need ur advice.
My dd1 is starting sec1. For PSLE, I was the one who coached her, no tuition. I told her secondary sch I’m going to let go my hands on her studies while I focus on dd2. She said she still want me to help her, if not, get tuition for her. I told her she shd try herself. She lack confidence.
May I ask when it comes to sec, r we able to coach them? I supposed if there is time, I can still help wif maths, but how abt other subjects, does it take up a lot of time n effort for us to understand the subject in order to teach them? Tuition is last resort for me. TIA!

I juz checked my dd’s concession card at the mrt ticketing machine, it shows an expiry date of 1may14. I supposed the primary concession card is valid till expiry n hopefully the secondary concession card is issued by then.
