Few days ago he can count from 1 to 10. He can also sing ABC song and even recognise and say out A B C and O letter. But he still cant call us papa mama despite teaching him everyday, I couldn't understand why is it so. Is it because he is not interested in people? Is there any way I can do to help him to talk?
Hi, curious to find out how did your son learn the ABC song and how did he start recognizing the letters? If u can figure that out maybe u can use the same techniqeu to teach him papa mama? My husband and I realized early on that our son is better with reading than with images.. so we printed out lots of words. I even bought a laminating machine so I can make flashcards. The traditional method of using picture association didn't work well for my son. Have to experiment and find a method that works..

how does Music Therapy help a hyperactive child ?

does it help a hyperactive child to sit still, be focus, concentrate in school work ?
My friend's teenage son has ADHD and gets distracted very easily. When I have a conversation with him, he can talk about 10 over topics in just a few mins. One day at my friend's house I watched him play the piano and it was quite amazing to see him concentrate hard on one song for 5 full minutes.. After I saw it for myself, I decided to enroll my autistic son for piano lessons too, hopefully this helps to train his focus

Dear Parents, My son was suspected autism when he was 3.5yrs. We brought him to KK. The doctor said \" your son is confirmed Autism & have to study at the special school\".
However, we do our way. Currently at K1 full day childcare + Meta school twice/week for 4 hrs, he also attends some enrichment class for Chinese, Shichida, swimming and catch up quite well. He can read English books, good phonics, correct pronunciation even better than me. Now we look forward to register him to P1 normal school next yr.
Just would like to share our experience, same as all other parents have a special little one, we had a hard time, childcare teacher always call and complain, even the parents of my son's classmates requested Teacher to stop my son go to school, his classmates did laugh at him & said he is sick …. we did cry and worry very much about our dear son's future...
But please do not give up, we believe our son is normal & smart, just he is in a different way and need the guide to come back to normal life.
We searched all the methods on internet, bought several books and tried all...
We talk to him more, play together with him whatever he interested in, sing a song together and made him laugh, spend time to him more, bring him go to playground until 9pm on weekend...
One of the good book we read is the Son, Rise by Barry Neil Kaufman & Autism Breakthrough by Raun K Kaufman.
      You can buy online.
As we are the parent, we are the most people in the world understand our little one and know what they need...
Give more love & respect to our little, one day we will see the sunrise.
Your story is so encouraging and I totally agree with you! Our children just need our guidance šŸ™‚ I do the same for my son, he was also diagnosed with autism and husband and I decided to send him to regular kindergarten and EIPIC. And like all kiasuparents, we started him on sports classes and recently piano lessons. Even though he is autistic, his life should not just be therapy after therapy after therapy.. There has to be some positive fun, and so we enrolled him for enrichment classes šŸ™‚ Some may say that any extra time should be spent on therapy.. but I think guiding my son towards sports and music helps to build a more wholesome and enriching life

    • RE: 10 Habits of happy couples

My husband and I set aside 1 day a week for a \"us time\" away from the kids. Grandparents help to take care of our 2 kids so we can go for a dinner date. Always thankful for our alone time, reminds us why we fell in love in the first place šŸ™‚
