HCI is behind (not even closely). *SAD* Gone are those days when HCJC is at the top. Anyway, they are both different schools.

The rest of the IP schools are further behind.

The non IP schools are even further.

And who say all schools are good schools?

Maybe all schools are good schools, just some better than the other.

HCI started IP prog, not RI.

Every school is different and What every child want in a school is different too. I feel that as long as the school suits the child, it's a 'good' school.

IP program was launched in 2004 in a few schools, including RI, Hwa Chong, ACSI and NJC which was the only one that took in students from sec 3 then.

It does not make sense to compare mean score of Nanyang, with mean score of Ai Tong

Nanyang is Gep school.
Ai Tong is non-Gep, neighborhood Bishan school.

should not compare Nanyang with Rosyth, because Rosyth is non -SAP.
If want to compare these two : can only compare the Gep portion.
Mainstream wise :
NYPS pupils expected to perform better than Rosyth, in Chinese.

But we can compare Nanyang with Tao Nan, Catholic High, Nan Hua, because these 4 are (Sap + Gep), all in common.

For Rosyth :-
We can compare with St Hilda, Henry Park, Rgps, ACS barker, because they hold common ground, in (Non-Sap + Gep)

Going by this logic then why do we compare or list the T scores of each school?

All I am saying is unless you know what’s the national average then one can’t jump to any conclusion. And unless we compare each school’s subject results you can’t form any conclusion of which actually did better. Certainly not by a single highest achieved T score result.

every cohort is different and its not exactly fair to compare current batch with previous batches’ results. the quality of the kids may differ just like the difficulty level of the papers may differ too. instead of focusing on the top T score isn’t it more meaningful to look at where the school stands in terms of mean/average score and the number of students who score more than 250, for example? so what if certain school has a student who scored the highest but the majority of its students are lower than national average? does it mean the school did well against the others? is one top T score reflective of the school’s overall results? certainly not.


some posters commented that NYPS’ average score of 235 is low. but the last i checked, ai tong (219), rosyth (221) both SAP schools too are lower. only NHPS did better. unless we know whats the national average, can we jump to conclusion that NYPS has done badly compared to others?

am just speaking out loud- am not connected to NYPS in anyway.
