      hihi!

Thinking of getting my very own breadmaker... Anyone has recommendation on which is a good (simple to use) and reliable breadmaker?

      Thank you!!

      Hi SavvyQueen, welcome!

The better known brands of bread machines are from http://gb.severin.com/products/cooking/breadmaker/bm-3990 and http://www.kenwoodworld.com/sg/Products/Cooking-Baking/Bread-Makers/. I believe their machines tend to be bigger, so they are good if you have a big family, or if your family likes eating bread...remembering that your homemade, no-preservative bread is best eaten within a day or two.

But what got everyone into a frenzy, and turning this into a 540+ pages thread is the http://www.zojirushi.com/products/bbhac, or affectionately known as the Z machine. It's a hit among forum members here because of its small foot print, and cuteness.

As for myself, I was afraid that the bread machine will become a white elephant, so I was not about to spend $300 on the Z machine. :moneyflies:

Instead, when I was on holiday in China in June, I paid about $50 for http://wbdq.midea.com.cn/product/receive.aspx?TID=14&PID=214 and it's absolutely money well spent since it had worked wonderfully well so far. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a viewing window on top for me to peak at the progress.

As for the ease of use, I guess all the machines are fool proof that even this fool can do it. All you need to do is to follow instructions. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Thank you Big Devil!

OMG! $50! Thats a definate steal!

Ya.. have been browsing ard the dept stores and I must say the Z machine looks really sexy.. haha.. but the price tag... ๐Ÿ˜“

am just wondering if the price tag is justifiable (like more functions? easier to use? more durable?) or mainly for the design.. also worried that after paying high price, become white elephant when my enthusiasm fizzles..

hmmm .. am glad to hear that breadmakers are fool proof.. ha...

      Laura02:
I went on a cruise to Penang/ Port Klang in Nov 2009. My kid loved the kids club, and we had time to ourselves for most of the day. They organised various activities during the day, such as dance classes, origami classes, scrapbooking ... look at the notices posted outside the restaurants. We went for fine dinning and the menu changed everyday.

There is a free shuttle bus in Penang that stops at a bus stop 5 min walk from where the ship docked. The bus stops at the major tourist stops, including Komptar. We went to shop at Komptar and the malls next to it. Its a 15-20 min ride on the bus.
We stayed aboar the ship at Port Klang and found ourselves fully occupied with activities.
      Thanks for info Laura!

Carribean has activities for different age groups. My 6yo son joined their programme for a few hours. They have story time & characters for photo taking. But I found that the activities for older kids are more interesting, esp teens as they have treasure hunt & adventure sports. Preschoolers mainly stay indoor, some just watch cartoon...anyway, it's just fun to hang out with kids on the cruise. So for the rest of the cruise, we had fun at the pool, jacuzzi & playing table tennis. Not forgetting the fine dining. Service is great!

      Thanks Wan for info!

My child's 4 now. And yes, she's happy to go to her music class, which I'm glad for. Each lesson's 1h long and would usually include some games, singing, solfege, music note learning and keyboard playing.

I can't quite recall the cost offhand though. You could give the centre a call and check? ๐Ÿ™‚
