Last year all applicants can check on portal but this year unsure. Sports should b via call n letter by hand during briefing . Acad letter posted via mail.

Last year, DD’s application was updated with a ‘Success’ status (means a confirmed DSA offer) on a Tue, 28 Aug at 5-ish PM. Followed by a letter via snail mail. In 2016, if I remember correctly, DD’s application status was updated on 29 Aug or was it also 28 Aug, evening time.

Oic. Then probably the sport ones faster as my friends n I received calls in the morning maybe they need to confirm attendance for briefing next day .[/quote]Yes, could be earlier for sports domain. DD’s non acad/cca. Only those confirmed offer and waitlist under CCA domain (I suppose sports and aesthetics) need to attend a tea session on 29 Aug.

How will NYGH notify parents? Via email or call or both?

Just checked. DD received a CO! 😓 :rahrah:

      hi seekdoze,

      :congrats:

Your daughter received a CO, under \"Innovation & Creativity\" domain, also related to Arts drawing ?

Thanks! Yes, one may use Arts for this domain but you could also use other creativity and innovation ‘skills’ that you have to support your application. The girls were not tested on their drawing/sketching skills. The three hours ‘interview’ (I would think this is more than just a interview, it’s as good as a selection test?) comprised of a few components including a panel interview. DD really enjoyed it and told me that her team mates are great and made a few friends there! I think there was a high level of creativity participation, interaction and sharing among the girls, teachers and the p that made the interview session so enjoyable. 😄

For RGS or NYGH, does it mean for subject-specific domain, there will be written tests as the first round, followed by shortlisting for either interview or half day camp?

Based on my understanding for NYGH, trials/auditions are only for those who applied under the Sports and Aesthetic domains (2 phases). If they performed well in the trial/audition, they will be shortlisted to the interview phase. There are no trials/auditons for the other domains. Shortlisted candidates for the other domains go straight to the interview phase.

If I’m not wrong, the interview duration varies based on the domain your child applied for.

Two years ago, DD1 went straight to the interview, she did not sit for further written tests but some group activities. Probably they took the GAT prior to the interview.

Feedback from many parents that 3G teachers are very relax, not as committed. Maybe they think that the 'top' class has very close parents' support at home, etc.

This worries me. My DS going to 3G next year, hope the teachers are committed.

Not to worry, it may not apply to your DS. You would be able to tell how 'on' the teachers are from the amount of homework/revision/practise papers they give to their students? 😂 Some parents like such teachers while some parents don't. Very subjective.
