I think cca should be a passion and/or an interest of our kids more than just a tool to dsa. Maybe that's why moe is trying to adjust cca domain every year?
I can only speak for my case with my elder one. She didnt really get to select a CCA of her choice, as she didnt really know what she wanted when she was in P4. So the school ended up choosing for her as she got selected to be in Robotics, while initially I put her for athletics (Track and Field) as I wanted her to get some exercise.
I feel for most (my 2 daughters definitely included) dont really know what they want, and they do need a bit of guidance from the parents to help and naturally we would want to guide it towards a CCA that could be one lead to a successful DSA.
And I am more inclined for sports DSA for my 2nd one, but if it changes every year...it will really be tough...I guess we just have to make a bet and hope it works out... -

Thank you...So I guess the best way is to really do the Open House next year and check it out...
Actually this is not correct. There are a few changes this year, some schools did take away a few sports from their DSA list. For example, Judo, Gymnastics (Trampoline) and Shooting were one of the DSA sports for RGS (and probably NYGH too) last year, but this year, these sports were taken out.phtthp:
What's your definition of \"Change the Sports, from year to year \"?
If you are asking whether Secondary schools via DSA, change their Sports from year to year :-
For existing ones : they won't change
But for new ones, they may add new Sports in
Example
Say, X Secondary school last time don't have Hockey, for DSA
But if school X today want to add in or include Hockey as a new Sports DSA, Yes, they can.
But think carefully, first.
Once you accept DSA :
the commitment is either 4 years or 6 years, depending on which Sec school offer -

Will do that and have to see if she will stay committed as i understand you cant stop in the middle of it....Seheena:
So happy to have found this as my daughter is in P4 now. She has expressed great interest in judo recently and I was wondering are there schools looking at judo, especially for girls? I know some have judo as CCA, and I dont know how closely they are linked to as a sport for dsa.
Not according to the MOE website. But still no harm in letting her try for it if it is her interest.
https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/direct-admissions/dsa-sec/sports-and-games#Judo
Maybe need to visit a few schools next year...Thank you -

Thank you so much for the information. Yes, so plan to enroll her to a class for some time to see her commitment. What's your definition of \"Change the Sports, from year to year \"?
