I am an older sister to a sister who just finished PSLE with 242+2.

Parents call her stupid to her face for wasting literally 6 years of money+time spent hovering around her everyday chauffeuring, doing homework, sleeping and teaching (my father works from home so it’s possible).
They want her to go to Nan Hua just because it is "1 mark higher" than Crescent (both me and my sis choice).
I graduated from Nan Hua and I have a terrible personal experience. Even without it, Crescent is a much better school as it value-adds and is single gender, no need to tie plaits, better uniform.
Just by raising a different opinion, father hit me. He say unless I pay him $2,000 every month for my sister, then I get to decide her school lol.

    • RE: All About ABRSM Grades & Support

I just took the exam yesterday. Examiner was Ann Ward. She’s quite nice.

I started out with pieces first. Quite ok with only a few small mistakes.
Scales was horrible. It’s not I dont know, I just get nervous and can’t listen instructions. Like she say left hand and idk why I will play RH. Or she says staccato and I play legato. Zzzz.
Sight reading was not as bad as I feared.
      Cadences sucked!!
When do you think the results would be out? I praying for a pass only.

      Wow I am taking A1 B1 and C3 too.

My exam is 13 march, really nervous
Btw, any advice on what to wear? I am now a uni student. Last time I used to wear school uniform but now I’m thinking of wearing blouse and skirt but my mother want me to wear a flowery rufflery lacy black dress. It’s very uncomfortable and tight because I am fat. Should I listen to my mother? Will the dress even make a difference (assuming it doesn’t improve my aesthetics).

HCI we have 52 people scoring 8 distinctions (and above).

Although a lot of pple did badly for GP, CLL (19% distinction), H3…

Lol there’s no point in studying ahead, most of the textbooks available is rather indirect (they have lots of info that you don’t actually need). You might as well join JC tuition first.

    • RE: A level in 3rd language and Music

I’m not sure how many people actually "fail" the subject though. Basically for prelims, we get bad grades like E but for A’s most people get Bs. Only 1 guy in my class got A (he’s not Japanese but he’s crazy about Jap).

At least on the bright side you won’t do terribly for third lang.
I think you can take both music and third lang as long as you choose only one scholarship (the MEP or LEP)

Yup, I took Jap for my A Levels. The workload is really hard though, the whole level only has about 30+ students I think. It’s really hard to get A because there’s half-Japanese/Japanese students who never show up for class but will get full marks.

    • RE: PSLE score: higher chinese and normal chinese ?

Taking HCL gives bonus points in o levels.

BTW, when scholarship boards ask for your PSLE score, do we need to add in bonus points from HCL? ty

Haha i suppose that's back in time, right? The Bishan MOELC no longer sells coke. Or ice cream. Though they have plenty of cup noodles. And so far we only watched 2 animes throughout the whole year:O
really? i was studying Jap until last year, and no more ice cream >.<
