    • RE: Past Year Exam Papers

Where to Find Free Test Papers in Singapore?

      Summary is given here:
      Sgtastpaper.com
Sgtastpaper.com distinguishes itself with an extensive repository of free test papers for primary, secondary, and JC levels, supplemented by weekly worksheet & eMCQ updates and a dedicated customer service email hotline.

      Testpapersfree
In contrast, Testpapersfree offers a similar collection of free test papers, but with the added benefit of a form-based search function and a range of educational and technical articles.

Sgexam, on the other hand, specializes in primary-level papers, boasting a user-friendly navigation system and an multiple-choice test feature for upper-primary English.

The details of comparison are on the hyperlink above.

    • RE: Is Popular Bookstore still popular?

The Popular bookstore chain has been sold to Hong Kong investment company ZQ Capital.

The Chief Executive has decided to retire after the acquisition. The Popular Bookstore brand has been household name for the last 99 years since 1924.

Its main product lines are assessment books. MOE started to removed mid-year exams in 2023, resulting in lacklustre sales after the long pandemic lockdown.

Fortunately, the stores will continue operating as usual. Will the new management attract more customers or open new stores?

Pension scheme still exists. My hubby is on pension scheme. He can either opt to take out one lump sum or collect a monthly pension for the rest of his life upon retirement. To digress, we cannot decide which option to take because looking at MIL, she lived to the ripe old age of 90yo so good chance DH could live just as long.

It has been replaced by CPF. In fact for most stat board employees doesn't even have permanent employment but just contract basis renewable every year or couple of years.

Yes, heard p1 more tricky than p2. But overall, saw smiling kids outside school, so everybody was happy. No Helen and Ivan this year.. 😂
Anybody knows of any particularly challenging questions in the paper today?

Older PSLE-is-insane video, \"Adults Take PSLE Maths Paper and Almost Die\", quite humorous!

\"I can feel my brain coming out of my ear!\"

The story also features Ammiel Wan, one of the first teachers who pioneered the challenging word problem questions.

    • RE: SG insane - Japanese NUS students about PSLE Math

      It is insane because:

Principals who insist teachers set difficult questions, bet they can't do the questions themselves.
Highest authority in MOE who approves policies on PSLE, bet they can't do the questions themselves.
Foreign students receiving scholarships in NUS can't do the questions

To Kiasuparents now preparing their kids for coming exams, don't worry, the questions have been dumbed down quite a bit last few years already. 18 questions reduced to 17.

Best antithesis to setting high barrier in PSLE and forcing children to do intellectual acrobatics is:
