I am planning a F&E trip to Korea in December. I would like to know where are the recommended places to go for food eg. Korean Ginseng chicken soup, barbeque food etc. Can someone share with me your experiences? Thank you. šŸ˜„

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

      Hi jtoh/DesertWind/Janet_lee88/hquek,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestions. I forgot to add that I am a full time working mother with 2 kids. I will send her back after I managed to get a new maid in. I am just worried for my kids since she appears to be so bold and makes me lose my trust in her.

Do you all allow your maids to hold handphones? Do you install cameras to monitor your maids? Can you share with me what type to look for and any shop/brand to recommend? Thanks again.

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

      Hi everyone

I would like to seek all your opinion. I just discovered that my maid stole my handphone which i kept it in a drawer. This was since beginning of Jan-11. FYI she has only worked for me for a year. It was agreed that no handphones are allowed during her 2-year contract in SGP. She approached me for handphone in her 6th month of working for me and i told her i would consider during the 3rd year if she decided to still work for me. Being maids, they usually talk to other maids whenever she brings my children to and from school. I also discovered that she got to know some Bangladeshi workers near my area and she gave her number to these men! She also got them to help buy/top up prepaid phone cards and that day when i confronted her, there were so many incoming phone calls from these men and when i ran through the smses, there were so many exchanges of love messages and arrangment of meet ups.

Would you give her another chance or start looking around for a new maid? Appreciate all suggestions.

      Hi TAS

      Thanks for your reply.
I believe he should be able to read Usborne Young Readers Series 1 or 2. Where can i get those books from?
Do you sell books / worksheets? Please keep me posted too. šŸ˜‰

    • RE: Recommended English Books

      Hi TAS

What are the types of books you will recommend for a 6 year old boy?
His aunt gave him an Avatar book to read (thin paperpack, not thick book with small words) and he seems to enjoy reading it. What are the types of questions i should ask him to ensure that he knows what the story is about, or rather to get him to tell me more about the storybook that he read.

      Thanks!

    • RE: Travel: Korea - General

      Hi all

I would like to bring my 2 kids (5 years and 33mths) for a week long holiday to Korea probably in early Dec. But i am quite hesitant as i am not sure if they can take the coldness there since they are very prone to flu and cough. I guess it will only be on a F&E as a tour will be too hectic and thinking of going only to the theme parks and some shopping in Seoul itself.

Do you think it is a good idea to go during early Dec? Please share your experiences.

      Thanks.

    • RE: Yamaha Special Junior Advanced Course - Discussion

      Hi Parents,

I am sorry to side track from the current topic but my child has just attended the Yamaha Junior Course. I am just wondering if there is such a thing called a Music Handbook to learn on notes reading or to teach the kid to recognize music notes cos i myself do not play the piano, let alone read notes.

      Thank you to all.
