My son who‘s in k2 now went for a free assessment at the LC @tampines cpf building yesterday and he was actually put under launchpad. But im still indecisive ..wondering if its worth to enroll him there. My son kinda struggle when he needs to read instructions everytime when he does his homework. I was hoping that by enrolling him at the LC, it will somehow helps him improve in his reading. I appreciate any feedback about LC at the tampines branch. And how does this referral code works? how do I get one? TIA:)

I brought my son to Tampines to do the assessment as well, not very impressive by the teacher there. And my friend recommended me her daughter teacher at Marine Parade center, and I brought my boy there for a free trial class and the little likes the teacher! After that I heard that the 2 teachers there are quite popular there. So now every week I travelled from Tampines to Marine Parade for the class and I feel it’s worth it.

Anyone has reviews to share for TLL English enrichment @ Marine Parade branch for current K2 level? DS doesn’t have much trouble for presentation show&tell skills but I think needs improvement for writing spelling skills. I heard that most of the better Teachers are located @ United Sq branch though, not sure how true?

To be honest, I was exploring this option because I was going through the different phases & shortlisting schools for 2021 registration.


But looking at the timelines & uncertainty in events it does seem like it’s an end road for this. Thanks for sharing though.

PA is a very large organisation that works at a very slow pace. You can certainly try, as that’s your prerogative. IMHO, unless you are ah kah ji with the adviser or chairman, or a VVIP, I don’t see how you can meet the dateline for 1 and 2, and I’m not even sure that there’s a 3 for you to join.

Your timeline is very very tight.

Not say u wanna start can start. PA takes time to process. Chairman takes time to approve you joining meeting.

Cny in feb - my rc got no meeting in feb lo.
Maybe other rc also no meeting.

Unless the GRO has already committed to you on the timeline, I highly doubt it is doable.

No guarantee you can meet the Feb cut-off to join (unless there’s an open spot and GRO / PA works super fast).
No guarantee you can be confirmed by May 2019 (may take up to a year to be confirmed or longer if there’s no place on the committee).

Assuming I sign up now, Feb start off as Observant for 3months & get confirmed as a Member in May 2019, so that’s when the 2years start to count right? Then I might just have made it right before pri one registration in July 2021... Or based on experiences here, timing wise it’s already too late??

Can’t find on MOE website because it isn’t there. You have to check with individual schools or use the link above. Not all schools organise Open House, and popular schools rarely hold one.

Ahh I see. By any chance does anyone have insights on the schs I mentioned? Like are they much more academically focused or more holistic or more chillax type? All insights appreciated.
