PA is people association. [Moderator's note: Entry removed on request of service provider] I did call to MCYS and the officer said it is fine...

      happydaddy:
There is no such thing as PA. Either MCYS or MOE.

unless this centre is classified as enrichment. No single child can stay there for more than 3 hrs.

anyone hv feedback about [Moderator's note: Entry removed on request of service provider]?

My child started schooling in [Moderator's note: Entry removed on request of service provider] not long ago. So far so good but it is still early for me to conclude. Out of the 8-9 schools I visited, I like [Moderator's note: Entry removed on request of service provider]i the most although it is a pretty new school. But I am willing to give it a try ๐Ÿ™‚ So far, my child adapts well to the school.

      Hi

Thanks a lot for sharing! I am interested in [Moderator's note: Entry removed on request of service provider] as well, but a little concerned that they aren't approved by MOE, nor under MCYS..there was very little discussion in the forum on it too. not sure whether they adhere to Montessori principles such as mixed-age grouping as well..

I've been to a few others too...but thanks, will take your advice and bring my son down to visit.

Just curious, which one did you end up with in the end? ๐Ÿ™‚
[Moderator's note: Entry removed on request of service provider] is registered with PA. I called to MCYS to ask whether it will be fine to register my child under school without approval from MOE and MCYS. The officer told that PA is actually associated with MCYS. So if the school has registered with PA, it should be fine.

      Hi

Maybe you should not allow your maid to close the door with the baby...
But if not close the door, my elder one may be too noisy outside. And in the afternoon, my maid will usually turn on the air-con in the room cos it is really hot. then will need to close the door... don't know how to address this issue leh...
Your in-laws will usually attend to the older one while maid looks after the baby ? Does maid do housework when the baby is asleep or uses baby as an excuse not to do anything ?
yes, my in-laws usually attend to the older one while maid looks after the baby. My maid will do housework when baby is sleeping. When there are a lot of housework need to do, then my in-laws will take care of baby. Basically my maid is quite helpful in terms of baby sitting and housework.

I have my parents-in-law at home to supervise actually. But my parents-in-law are busy taking care of my elder one; they may not pay attention to my younger one. Sometimes they bring the elder one go downstairs to play or to the market and left my younger one at home with my maid. And my maid usually go into my bedroom to play with the younger one and close the door to bring baby to sleep.

Hi everyone, recently husband and I are considering to put hidden camera(s) at home to monitor our maid. Our maid take care of our little baby. Are there cameras that are really hidden and wonโ€™t be discovered by maid? I donโ€™t wish our maid to know that we are suspicious of her because we want to keep to good relationship with her.

      hi skydreamer

i went to little wonders at jln remaja for free trial before i enrolled my gal into amazing star. i quite like the environment and teachers at little wonders. but the distance is quite far from our place and there's no school bus from the centre to my place. so, i selected amazing star at yew tee.

why not call little wonders and ask if they still provide free trial?
      Sunny,

I visited Little Wonders at Hillview (haven't visited Jln Remaja). The place was very crowded and the classroom for younger kids is very packed also. Most teachers there are not montessori trained. I don't know about the one at jln remaja. Perhaps I can pay a visit there...

DIY but the partitions are movable so my boy plays with the partition instead of focusing on the number activity...

Thanks mumtotots, I had my kindergarden to high school education in malaysia so i am not familiar with the education system here in singapore. Now start to be anxious of getting familiar with the local system for my boys.

When I look at the schedule for playgroup (for kids < 2.5yo) from different montessori pre-school, i noticed that the montessori work time allocated is quite limited, says only 15-45 minutes in the AM session. If I send my boy to half-day programme, then he will be only have this little amount of time spent on montessori work. The rest of the time just snack, arts & crafts, outdoor play, lunch etc. The rest of the activities seems no much special compared with other non-montessori pre-schools. But the $$ spent is high. So i am considering will i be spending this relatively high amount but just get something which is not much different from the other non-montessori pre-schools??
