His Math teacher just called. He explained that in P6, my son will still be doing for Standard Math for Term 1. After the weighted assesment if he's still failing, they'll switch him to Foundation Maths. So that's some help.
I'm completely on my own. Though i'm definitely going to put him weekly Math revisions during the holidays.
It was a rushed call so i didn't get to ask what happens if he still fails. I'll ask during next years term 1 meet up.
Most kids can clear Maths| AL6. Let the school/cher decides and make an informed decision if the child should to at Foundation/ Std Level. Trust them…..

With a lot of Hardwork, it can be done! meanwhile, rewind the clock to do Key P4 Topics like Fractions/ Decimals/ Area and Perimeter/ Decimals….

Hihi sorry..can chk what you mean by chances ..an uphill task?

To get into MEP is tough?

To have MEP plus a prerequisite to join a music related CCA can be tough in terms of time & commitment?

To go for both MEP + 3rd language, will be tough in terms of time&commitment ?

To ask to be allowed to join MEP+3rd language is uphill task? or

To ask to drop the 3rd lang after the successful MEP admission, is an uphill task?
Sorry, was referring to the MT exemption Q.

      Yes, correct.

if u take MEP, must also take one Cca related to music.

Also, MEP is very time consuming. That's why u are not allowed to take it concurrently with 3rd foreign language (Japanese / German / French / Spanish)

If you are offered both after clearing the MEP audition,
      then

the school will ask u to drop one of them.
You can try! Chances are it is an uphill task!

      NO

You should have received an SMS/ Email from MOE this morning. ( assuming your child is in P6 2023 and given a CO/ WL.

This was written explicitly in the email:

      Important Notes

      1. To be successfully admitted, your child’s PSLE results must qualify them for a Posting Group (i.e. Posting Group 1 / 2 / 3) offered by the school.

      2. If your child is successful in the DSA-Sec, they will not be allowed to participate in the Secondary 1 (S1) Posting to opt for secondary schools, or to transfer to another school after the release of the PSLE results. Your child is expected to honour their commitment to the allocated DSA school for the entire duration of the programme.

      3. A submission, amendment or withdrawal is considered complete only after the other parent has logged in to confirm and complete the process.

For the kids who accepted WL or CO for the o level track, what happens when the kids results can qualify for the IP track? Does the school offer a choice to convert the child to IP track or the child would have to remain in the o level track?
No you cant. It is a covenant regardless of the performance at the PSLE. Of course, auto lapsed if one score above 22. However, the child can apply for lateral transfer to IP stream at Sec 2.

      Hi,

My DS received 1 CO and 2 WL. The 2 WL are his 1st (School A) and 2nd choice (School B).

Will my DS still have a chance to convert his waitlist for School B if we prioritize School A's waitlist as our first choice but didn't get converted in the end?

      Thank you.
If School B didnt convert, and School A converts, of course, your child stands a good chance if School A’s CO converts.

      Hi,
Does anyone know how the COP works if the AL score doesn't fall in the express nor normal range?

      For example school A:
      Express 4-15
      Normal 21 to 24
      Child's AL score 18

Does that mean that the child cannot get into school A even for Normal?

      Thank you.
If the child qualifies for Express stream eg: AL 20 and below, there is NO OPTION to choose NA Stream. This is a factual info that many misunderstands. DO NOT Listen to hear say. There is no option for NA Stream if the child qualifies for EXp. AL System, Only AL 21/22, there is an Exp/ NA Option. Aka: G3/ G2 Option.
