Hi, my son is a non Christian and I am a bit concerned that the school may try to convert non Christians. Does anyone have non Christian children going to the school and how’s the experience with regard to religious activities?

When I attended the open house 2 years ago, the student councillors did mention that all students are required to attend a 1 hour chapel session once a week. Perhaps you should ask your son whether he is comfortable to be in a missionary school.

Would like to check with from current PHS student if the noise from both NS way tunneling and HDB construction affecting the class lesson. Is it very dusty in PHS. I wish to enroll my child in this school
Is the class room air- conditioned?

When I visited PHS open house in November 2019, the classrooms, canteen, technical workshops were not air-conditioned. Only the school hall and certain rooms are air-conditioned.

I happened to be near that area today and drove by to take a look. There's an entire area in front of the school's main gate that has been hoarded up for the NSC construction. Also behind the school, a substantial corner plot of land looks like it has been carved out of the school compound and hoarded up.

While it is true the NSC is underground, but still the massive construction equipment needs to be sited on current land plots, so that the tunnelling can take place and be monitored from those entry points. Maybe once the NSC is fully completed in 2026 the school will get the corner plot of land returned to it.

I believe it is still a good Christian co-ed school. If can bear with the pounding noise and dust, the school is actually an ultra convenient quick walk from YCK MRT station. As shared by phtthp, PHS COP for 2020 remains the same as previous year for Express stream while those for NA and NT stream rose slightly. Perhaps if not for the massive construction, the COP may even be higher. Are you surprised?

PHS has to give up some land. PHS shd be dusty and noisy and many construction workers walking outside the school.

From what I know, the North South Corridor is underground. Hence, PHS does not need to give up any of its land.

I am PHS alumnus who graduated many years ago. I visited PHS Open House 2019 and learnt from the student counselors (prefects) during the walk-around tour that they have compulsory chapel session once a week. There are non-Christians students in PHS too. As far as I know, there is no mandatory religious studies.
