Hi
My gal also got into KC though she is not from KC primary. She loves KC as the school is supposed to focus on speech and drama from their intro video. However, the principal did not highlight it yesterday. I personally felt that the school had put in good effort to plan the event in great detail, making the registration process very clear and smooth. Great Job!

RE: DSA 2013
SOTA offers 100% of its admission via DSA. Registration for the Talent Academy 2013 opens on 3 January 2013 at http://www.sota.edu.sg.
My dd demonstrate a great passion for music and was fortunately admitted into SOTA in 2012 via DSA (Heard only 1 in 5 got in!). She is in her year 2 now and I'm happy to see her grow into an independent and responsible kid today. Although the school hours are longer and more demanding than mainstream school, I feel that as long as she has a passion for her art form, she will voluntarily work hard and survive. She has to strive hard to complete her math/science/lit/history/geography/english/etc homework in between classes, as she has to make time to attend compulsory concerts, and long practice hours in school. In addition to the load, she also got into SYCO this year and has additional 2 more tedious night orchestra practices a week.
So to parents, if your child demonstrates a great passion for any art form, visual arts, music, dance, theatre, do attend SOTA symposium. It is a very good school.

RE: School Of The Arts, Singapore
My daughter's in music.
I met her senior from Nanyang Primary who is in SOTA yr 2 now. She said that the life in SOTA is hectic. She said that SOTA students are expected to manage their time well. They have to make full use of any free period to do assignments or they would not have time to catch up with their daily work. Lessons start at 8am and they get back home only after 7pm. After dinner, they have to continue to finish up their homework and usually get to bed only after 11pm. Another senior said, in school, official lunch time is one hour, but by the time they finish the extra work that their teachers assign, sometimes they are left with only 5 mins for lunch.
Having said all these, all SOTA students I met said they love the school very much!
