Last year, those (free, weekly from Semester 2 to PSLE day) extra lessons targeted all P6es. Apparently, the results were not desirable, so they decide to change strategy & focus on students with Normal Chinese marks >85. A student who does not meet the marks but wants to join in the lesson can speak to his tutor about it. Content is pitched at a more challenging level. & invitation is extended by the P6 tutor; reception does not have the details.

Tien Hsia P6 extra lessons do not take place every week, though they are open (free) to all P6es, & those who do not manage to attend or book a place can still get a copy of the lesson's notes.

COC would have covered key components at a steady pace. Elite class nonetheless has fantastic enrichment-type materials; the issue however, lies in the willingness of the child to sit through it...


From discussions with the centres, it seems that Elite class will benefit children who are already scoring ~A* & want to maintain/improve the standard. If you feel that your child still needs to grasp certain techniques, COC is fine as it is.

王洁 老师 was teaching at West Coast branch (its holiday program), & is now the main tutor there for its P6 level (there’s also a male tutor, 陈俞全 老师, whose specialty is upper sec). Wang老师 teaches P5 (x1) & P4 (x1) as well.

Tu 老师 is new. 黄圣贤 老师 is experienced. Her cv looks great & she is entrusted with the Elite class. I’ve received good feedback from a classmate about 张娟 老师 too.

I was going to edit that post to include - > the HuaCheng information I had explored is based on their CCW course, which does not cover textbook vocabulary or Oral in the 2hours. The other course they provide is the ACE course (强化班，handout says: 课本知识，阅读理解，口语训练，听力写作, etcetera), which I had not looked at in details.
