We are currently staying in sembawang/yishun area. In a dilemma whether to just send our girl to the nearby neighborhood school or MCS as we see alot of positive feedback on MCS from this forum.

1. How does MCS fare in terms of curriculum (academic) and co-curriculum?
2. How are the teachers and environment in MCS? Is it stressful? Reason is we want our girl to enjoy schooling and learning.
3. Compare to neighborhood schools around sembawang/yishun any difference?
4. Any parents staying in sembawang/yishun sending their kids to MCS at the moment?

I realize that the school is not easily accessible using public transport (bus and MRT). Need to walk quite a distance from the nearest MRT, Caldecott (Unable to cut through upon coming out from Caldecott station). As for the nearest bus stop, I believe it’s a distance away.

My boy is currently 4 years old (born in 2012). We are both SPR and live in Yishun. From going through this forum, we can see that Chongfu and Northland are both highly in demand.

Any parents here can advice which school should we enroll our boy into? We stay within 1km from Chongfu and Northland. Do we stand a chance if we go under phase 2B (PV) in either of the school or phase 2C?

Alternatively, besides these 2 schools, any other schools to recommend? Appreciate feedback and suggestions. Thank you in advance.

First of all, thanks for all the insights and feedback regarding schooling in Singapore. This forum is indeed very informative especially for newbies.

We are married couple, SPR with kids. Have been working in Singapore for the past 5 years.

Understand that citizens will be given priority in primary schools intake and very hard for SPR and foreigner to enter into branded primary schools like Nanyang, St. Hilda etc. We are not asking much but to look into to send our kids to an average neighborhood schools.

Currently we are renting but looking to buy a place. Looking to buy along the MRT red line from Yishun all the way down to Jurong/Clementi/Queenstown area.

Understand that if we are unsuccessful in the primary school application, MOE will place our kids in other nearby schools. Can fellow bros/sisters advice which schools in which district are okay in terms of 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice school? TIA.
