      Hi Chatelaine,

I didn't call up before the visits. Though I think it would be better to call up prior to visits and go during when the supervisors are around. During my visits, all the supervisors/principals at the centres were not around. There is a website for Graceland http://www.graceland.sg & GL http://www.gifted-learners.com.

      I viewed several recently.

      1. Rainforest @ Senja
      2. Graceland @ Senja.
      3. Ace @ Jelapang
      4. Gifted Learners @ Jelapang

No. 3 & 4 are located in the void deck CD shelters, so they are bigger as compared to no. 1 & 2.

Overall, I prefer the set-up of Gifted Leaners as they have separate areas for classrooms and eating. The rest, I believe the children will eat on the desks where they do homework. Price-wise, they are all around $270 to $300 per month. Addition cost for materials, school holidays, etc.

      Hello all

Taipei hotel room charge, does it go according to number of pax? My children age 3 and 6. When i book the room, do i state 2 adult or i need to tell them 2 adult and 2 children? I only need a standard room. The children can sleep with us, no additional bed required. So do i still need to pay?
Anyone have experience and can advise me?

      Thanks.

i would think it is better to tell them outfront. if not, you may incurr hefty charges during check-in. in my search for hotels in taipei, I discovered that a lot of hotels only have queen bed (not king). i think 2A2C on 1 bed is quite cramp. also, for hotels that include breakfast in their pricing, they will ask that I pay for the child's breakfast.

perhaps you may want to consider Park Taipei Hotel (Daan station). They have a triple room - ask for the 1 king & 1 single. This could cater to your needs of 2A2C. i emailed to them directly & got the quote for this triple room with 3 breakfast.

    • RE: Travel: Taiwan - Taipei

We returned from Taipei recently & would like to share with everyone our itinerary for Taipei.

      Day 1 - Flight there & dinner
Day 2 - Sun Yat Sun Hall. Shopping at Xinyi District (Shin Kong Mitsukoshi 新光三越 & Eslite), then proceed to Taipei 101. Shopping at Zhongxiao Fuxing area.
Day 3 - Trip to Keelung, Yehliu, Shifen, Jiufen. Super heavy rain and low visibility during our day trip. Hence, we ended returning early back to Taipei. Shida night market.
Day 4 - AM: Danshui & National Palace Museum. PM: Wufenpu & Raohe night market & Lijiang night market.
Day 5 - AM: Longshan Temple, Chiang KS Museum & Ximending. PM: Baby Boss & Shilin night market.
Day 6 - More shopping at Taipei Underground Mall & other places that we went before to grab last minute items.
Day 7 - Flight back to Singapore.

Near Tsim Sha Tsui. Family room at YMCA. 1 bed in the master & 1 sofa bed in living.

Langham Mongkok (on top of MTR). They have a triple/quad room. But it is quite pricey that it is more worthwhile to get 2 rooms so that you have 2 bathrooms !

    • RE: Bukit Panjang Methodist Church Kindergarten

My son is happy to have the same form teacher follow him from pre-nursery into nursery. At the end of each term, the worksheets (Math, Chinese, Art & Craft & English) would be brought home. I have no point of reference/comparison on the curriculum, etc. So far, he is learning "strokes of chinese characters" & alphabets with rhymes using the Sunshine books series.

If I have any queries, the teachers/principal are quite responsive either via phone calls or emails. I am rather meticulous & "administrative" person, hence I find their administration/logistics a bit appalling. For e.g. I paid for the new uniforms in Sep/Oct , but up to the last wk of Dec, I haven’t heard from the school regarding the uniforms.

    • RE: Lollipop Art Studio @ Bangkit

I found them thru this forum. My son just finished 12 lesssons ($300 inclusive of materials) with them as a "jumble artist". I liked the different things/techniques that they use in class e.g. poster, water, or toothbrush & comb technique. At his age, I know that the artwork is at least 80% aided by the teacher. However, the important thing is that he liked and enjoyed getting his fingers dirty & the lesson.

The one thing that I don’t like is that they do not have the same teacher to teach for all 12 lessons. Maybe it is my time slot, but I am not sure about other timings. Of course, throughout the 12 lessons, the teachers will "repeat". Then again, it may not be a bad thing since my son can pick up different things from different people.

      Hi

May I know which hotel in HK can accommodate 2A2C in a room? My children are 2 and 5. Location should be convenient, near mtr.
I am gg to HK too. I am keen on Novotel Nathan & Langham.

Novotel usually have those \"book an extra room for children at 50% off the normal rate\". Langham Place (right above Mongkok MTR) has the trio place, which is top on my list.

Though I only have 1C, I will suffer lack of sleep if we room in 1 queen bed with a child that flips & turns throughtout the night for so many days! I feel it is better with an extra bed & the extra space.

    • RE: Interesting places of interest/Outings with kids!

What about free indoor playgrounds at Marina Sq or Paragon ?

For outdoors, I like Botanic Gardens. I prefer to it as compared to Jacob Ballas, which is a little out of way for non-car owners like me. After Botanic Gardens, can "chill out" Dempsey Hill or Tanglin Mall while the tired little one naps.
