RE: Montessori Phonics - Introduction To Single Letter Sounds
Buds thanks so much... do let me know how much it cost...but is it still available at d shop still... Cause it seems to be extinct haha!I searched almost everywhere for it... My hubby will tease me and go 'aren't you tired of going in and out of all the stationary shop that comes in view?
My boy is 3 yrs 2 mths...he kind of like stamping stuff instead of holding a pencil and doodle so I thought it would be good to introduce him to the words by stamping...
Thanks again buds  -
RE: Montessori Phonics - Introduction To Single Letter Sounds
Thanks Buds
The alphabet place mats looks good…but I always can’t find the stuff that you recommend…so sad…I am still looking for the days of the week stampers which you recommend in the other thread…
Hopefully I can get the alphabets mat you recommend.
thanks again buds. -
RE: Montessori Phonics - Introduction To Single Letter Sounds
Thanks Buds…
Hehe!!! cause you gave me an easier alternative -buy tracing books instead of the tedious method which is to do the sandpaper letters…ha!ha!
my son is 3 yrs 2 months now…he is not making much progress in writing …that worries me…and he doesn’t seem to enjoy doodling/writing/drawing…dunno how else to motivate him.sigh! -
RE: Montessori Phonics - Introduction To Single Letter Sounds
Thanks Buds for the advice.
I am around just that I don't post on the forum haha! but I am a silent reader of this forum especially your threads.
Will try that tracing thingy with my son but really difficult cause he can't really hold a pencil properly despite the pencil grips I bought for him. So, I don't need to do the sandpaper letters for him?
Nah!! I'm not that hardworking... but mostly inspired by you and the mummies :salute: here at how much work you guys do with your kids. So I must strive to try to be like all of you.

RE: Montessori Phonics - Introduction To Single Letter Sounds
Hi buds
my boy can read 3 letter words now. All thanks to the ideas given in your thread fun materials in phonics thread. However, he could not write any letters legibly yet except for ‘o’. Will it help him learn how to write if I use the sandpaper letters thingy? Or is there any other method?I am quite worried that he had passed the sensitive period to acquire writing skill. He is now 3 years and 2 months. I admit that I did not work much with him on his writing skills.
Thanks -
RE: All About Teaching and Learning Phonics
Hi Tamarind
I read your phonics blog and came across the Wonderful wizard of oz book. Most books of this title comes with black and white or no illustrations but the one which you posted has some colour to the illustrations. Do you mind posting the picture of the book cover and let me know the publisher or which version is it?
Thank you so much. -
RE: All About Teaching and Learning Phonics
Thank you very much for the reply Tamarind. Can you share what other books which you let your boy read as a practice other than p&j series when he is at level 3 of p&j? Thanks.
