RE: Huamin Primary
Btw, how do you all label the books? As I do not know the class yet, I’ve only stick a name label at the right hand corner of all his books, even the jotter books…

Wow, means we have to let our kid bring along the big yellow file on the 1st day of school? Yup I’m kind of confused with the ‘timetable’ too as there are a few items that were not in the booklist. The jotter book that we bought is not A4 size but that’s the only one in the booklist so I guess it’s correct.
How did you find out which class your son is going too? Thought they’ll only allocate on 9th Jan? -

Hello mummies, can I check if you have packed your kids school bag? I’m wondering what’s the "My portfolio -English" item that they have to bring to school on the 1st day of school. I hope it’s not the big yellow folder, the bag is seriously heavy enough with that 8+ books inside…

RE: Huamin Primary
Thanks Vinrac, its nice to have mummies like you to share the info with us. So has this always been the norm that class allocation will be made known only when school reopens? By the way is there any guide on what books can the student bring for silent reading?

RE: Huamin Primary
Hi Jaclyn13, my boy did 3 pages of the worksheets and managed to go through about 100 words before he lost interest. Am worried he might not look forward to school at all if I pushed him too hard so I’m now letting him complete the worksheets & word list at his own pace. Lol.

RE: Huamin Primary
Hi all, am glad to see this thread with new postings. My son is in group 4, yellow house. Yea I was pretty surprised with the holiday package and assessment on orientation day and not to mention about the class allocation on 9th.
Well guess it’s either they need to allocate the kids using the assessment results or like what the principal says, to let the kids mingle around. I particular like the idea that they are allowing the kids a gradual adaption to P1 by having a shorten 1st day at school.
Both DS and I are excited and looking forward to the start of school. Mummies (& daddies) do keep this thread on-going! -
