RE: [Tampines] Primary Schools
I am living within 1km from Gong Shang, East Spring and Tampines North Primary. My choice will either try my luck to register my son for Gong Shang and go for ballot, or register him into Tampines Primary School which is within 2km with much lower risk of ballot. Will be grateful if any one can give me some valuable feedback if you were in my shoe.
Also, read from website that Tampines Primary has 99.4% PSLE pass last year and 81% of students go into Express stream. This is much higher than the 97%+ and 60%+ achieved by Gong Shang. The numbers don’t look right gauging on popularity. Can anyone help to shed some light? Thanks. -
daddy Staranz : Primary 1 registration
Hi,
I just joined KSP. Looking forward to share views and tips. My son born in 2005 and undergoing P1 registration. Joined the Red Swastika Association to get into Phase 2B registration and unfortunately did not even get a chance to ballot as there were 23 seats but 24 applicants were already within 2km. We are living further in Tampines. Unlucky year as the school reduced intake by 1 class, hence 30 vacancies lesser = 15 lesser for Phase 2B. Was told that this year is the first time in history of Red Swastika that 2B need balloting. Major headache in settling for a second choice now as we are similarly out of the race for the better schools in Tampines such as St Hilda and Poi Ching. Fingers x-ed. :slapshead:
