Can someone recommend a good student care near PL?

      Student Care near PLMGS

      1) Tung Ling
(This is directly opp PLMGS across the road, under Blk 138 ) majority is PLMGS girls, basic student care facilities.

      2) Proteach
      3) Little Professor
These two are further inside, blk 123 side. In addition to basic student care, they provide better academic support as compared to Tung Ling. Apart from going through their school work, they also provide an hour of tuition every day when the kids are there.

The student care will also help to pick up the girls after CCA (at extra cost) if required.

I am only familiar with these three. U need to secure the student care early as they only have one P1 class each year. Demand is very high!
Any breakdown SC within 1km for PLMGS, figures not promising -_-

There is one more vacancy for PLMGS, i think someone withdrew. I dun have the exact number but seem like the SC within 1km may not need to ballot as of today.

is it? my friend called the school to ask about chances for 1-2km and the person i think told her something like no need to try ..
Update from the other thread for PLMGS

      62 apply within 1KM
      18 apply within 1KM - 2KM

Still safe, no need to ballot.

Hi, I just moved to Hougang. I am within 1km from xinmin and Hougang pri. But I would prefer to get my gal in chijoln due to religion. May I know my chances of getting into chijoln? I am within 2km of chijoln. If i fail to get into chijoln, how high is my chances of getting into xinmin under P2CS. Thank you.

Did u register at CHIJOLN at phase 2b? under church affiliation?

I got a place for my DD in Holy Innocents under Phase 2B through PV.

I'm so undecisive if I should go for PYMGS if I really stand a chance in Phase 2C next week. We're 1-2km.. Don't know if the school will provide updated info via phone call?

Both are gd schools in their own way, no doubt. I preferred PYMGS primarily coz we're Christians and the sec sch is much better (holistically). However, Holy Innocents is just 1 bus-stop away from my house but afternoon session ..

Haiz, headache.. Why didn't PYMGS accept me as their PV last yr... I gave up her chance in St Margarets via Phase 2B coz of the distance.
Its tough if you are 1-2km for PLMGS as you may not even get to ballot. There was no vacancy at all for the 1-2km applicant last year. Just the less than 1km got in. the admin at PLMGS is very friendly, u can call them as many time to check as you want, they will give you the info. so not to worry. HI is a good school too just that its co-ed. There may be ballot situation at HI in 2C so do review carefully. And yes distance is important as I too gave up another girl school because of the distance.
So I guess 2C - 1-2km for PLMGPS is out of the question..

Depends on whether you dare to take risk. Last year was the first time PLMGS does not conduct balloting for SC 1km to 2km because there was sufficient vacancies for SC within 1km. Those who register in PLMGS SC 1km to 2km last year wasted their Phase 2C chance.

If there is a chance, I will try.. but there isn't any..
so I guess YangZheng will be a better option for me.
There are 4 more seats extra this year as compared to last. And it really depends on the application for the less than 1km. Call the school to check, they are very forth coming with updates. You can assess and see if you still stand a chance and want to go for it after reviewing the numbers next week. All the best.

      Hi carolkch1308,

Thanks! I've gone to that page already and also not gonna go for P2C coz we definitely stand no chance at all.

Any other mums or dads who already applied at P2B today or going to do so tomorrow?

      Thread is a bit quiet...

Now the figure stands at 40 going for 67. 😓
Chances should be good looking at the numbers today. Lots of 2B parents are not really within 1km. So even if need to ballot u may stand a chance. Last year 2 PR got in at 2B.

Yeah huge jump especially for 2A1 numbers. The condos around Maris, they TOP yet? can the address be used?

No, they can't. Bartley Residence Temporary Occupation Permit (T.O.P.) is 2017 and MOE will not allow the new address for registration if it is not within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One (2015 and 2016).

      2 yrs....before 2017....is 2015....

so this year registration can use?
Actually best is to call Maris to check. They will be able to advise. If address can be used, MOE will let them know.

So can be used? cos registration for this year is for entry into next year 2015. and its within the 2 year timeline for the TOP. So confusing! :scratchhead:
