Hi Parents, had some encounter over this yr’s P1 registration exercise and would like to seek insights to the administration culture of MCS…
1. Very late prep for Phase 2B - poor planning and lack of PV engagement?
As compared to other schools in the vicinity, they had quite a late decision on how many volunteers they wanted and what the PVs shd be engaged with. This leading to some PVs even not being able to complete the required hours, perhaps due to lack of pro-active comms. This is in comparison to another sch which I monitored who had 100% of PVs completing the required hrs.
2. Dis-organized?
I had to follow-up a few rounds for my PV application…
3. Lack of relationship building with Parents?
I’ve tried calling to check in on my chances for getting into Phase 2X before registering. The response is "We don’t know for now, we don’t have any details… Heard that may need to ballot already." That’s not quite helpful, for the anxiety that we had to deal with. As compared to another sch which I’ve dialed, who puts me straight to the VP, and advised that balloting would be required for which category (SG 1-2KM and at X% chance), and which is a lot more comforting…
Hate to see a school as an organization but there’s a lot of relevance in this description too. Hoping to hear some insights that behind the loving teachers, the school overall system is ok?
