I can only say that this is not a pleasant journey having went through DSA. M DS's first choice to try RI as a MS was rejected which at the same time missed another chance of trying HCI, since they both on the same date. now both slip off hand....


I just want to know, If we try by S1 Posting to HCI by PSLE result, how many available seats roughly left ?

It can be heartache but, don't give up. 加油! As long as he works towards his goal, he'll sure to secure a place in his dream school. Stay positive is crucial here. Even those who get CO/WL needs to put in effort to meet the min. T-score.

Don't worry and please don't feel guilty. It could be a blessing in disguise who knows these things? I am not being a wet blanket - I have gone through 2 DSA process and this is my 3rd. In retrospect, one of my kids actually regretted accepting the DSA offer because my DC could not change schools even though my DC felt the school is not the right fit (and even the teachers acknowledged my DC is in is not the right fit for the school in terms of culture and curriculum). But once you accept the DSA, it is a 6-year commitment and you are not permitted to transfer anywhere else. Know of IP kids who are depressed and unhappy and not coping well yet they cannot leave because they DSA into the school.

So, I think, it is still more flexible for some kids if the kids choose the PSLE cop route. But of course many kids and parents want to take some pressure off the PSLE and we still try the DSA route.

And don't worry even if HCI or RI gives out half the places for DSA, not everyone will take up the offers. The education landscape is so different now and our DC have more choices now. Some boys for eg will take up NUSH offers. I sincerely wish you and your DS all the best for PSLE! JIA YOU!
