Is above sbge program only unique to HCI? Or a few other secondary schools also have similar program?

This year, I know Some students got NUSH CO are all TOP students from their school. But true, not every TOP students will receive offer, including GEP students.

If the child is applying for NUSH, I am sure he should be interested in math or science, otherwise why should he bother to try the complicated selection and interview process? There may be some students not belongs to our category of “correct match”, but majority are very good students from both GEP and Main stream.

Every year there are students gave up offers from Rs and Hs, and choose to take up NUSH offer, because they feel it’s the best school can develop their talent.

So don’t be misunderstood that NUSH “dare not “ to take “TOP students “ because those students will reject the offer at the end. No, it’s not true, I believe no school will do this, just based on this “false assumption “ and let go their first picks .

There are more TOP students aiming for NUSH now because of the very good reputation, well recognised by Ivy League Universities, and peace of mind without A level stress.

No one can doubt luck plays a part in DSA Selection, but no choice, luck is essential in many aspects of life.

Best of luck for our kids in PSLE !
Of course some TOP students got in. It is just that more of average Joe and those with no passion got in with luck this year and perhaps since last year. Few had mentioned the similar before in the forum plus my personal encounters. It is not a complicated selection this year, as minus away the selection test and camp which were done in the past as the main filtering. Therefore, it can also be these reason the filtering this time round may not be as optimal as well as other schools who have ready been doing dsa interview interviewing students for many years with more experience.

In my kid's class, a kid with behaviour issues and poor team work ,giving teachers headaches , everyday scolded by teachers, was selected to NUS high. He does not have outstanding results and medal either..🤷‍♂️

HCI seems to be doing well in maths and science competitions for the past 2 years, on par with RI and better than NUS high?
