For the 'gai bian' n 'xiao chu' question, I checked with my Shanghainese neighbour who used to be a Chinese teacher. Because there is 'bu yu kuai', the answer must be 'xiao chu'.

      My ds's Chinese tutor ( P h D fr china )
She also said the ans is 消除

Thanks MummyStay & Ms Tay for the good news, as DS chose '消除' 😄 ! I also think the answer should be '消除', as there is '不愉快' in the sentence, so 'eliminate (消除) the unhappiness' sounds more logical than 'change (改变) the unhappiness'.

If the is no '不愉快' in the sentence, then maybe '改变' is acceptable, as in 'change the feelings' from good to bad, or from bad to good!
I really hope that the answer is xiao chu... Jia You!! :rahrah: :rahrah:

There is a friend of mine actually for

The mcq Q2 the hanyupinying question she wrote 4 at first and go and change it to2 in the end how careless of her to lose 2 marks just like that!
Ya. For my prelim Maths, i know my paper 1 already minus a lot of marks so I was very nervous for my paper 2 as i wanted to get A*. In the end, I found out that I got about 2 questions don't know how to do (which is total 7 marks) My paper 1 I already minus 4 marks so i cannot afford to lose anymore marks for paper 2. So, I was like scratching my head to think of the answer. Since already almost no time. I changed my original answer to another answer which I thought was correct. But, I found out that my original answer was correct!! I was like so angry with myself. As that question is divided in a) and b), If i can get b) correct (which is 2 marks), I will get A* already!! (FIY, i got 89 marks.) 😞

Ya loh we always make careless mistake in science if we keep losing half a mark in each question the total mark we lost is more than what u have imagined!

Ya. I recalled once that I -8 marks for my OAS and got 75 for my SA1 science 😞 So, I had learnt from it and must be more careful in the future 🙂 :rahrah: 😄

For science, I think the major problem is that there are a lot of careless mistakes being made.

Example : Where does the dragonfly nymph lived in?
Most of you will write: Garden.

However, the answer is pond as the questions says nymph.

Check your work carefully! (including me) 😛 Jia you!! Good luck!! :rahrah: :rahrah:

I just got to know from my auntie who is a Chinese teacher in a sec school that the answer is gai bian!!!! yay!!!:)

Nobody can be sure of the answer until MOE announce it actually.
There are so many teachers/expert quoted by so many here who have different opinions on which is the correct answer.

Yes, agree strongly. :goodpost: Jia You!! :rahrah: :rahrah:
If most of the kids feel that the papers are all relatively easy, then will the overall t-score be lower this yr?

like the year 2010 .... then the standard deviation is smaller, variance smaller, high score is lower

Yes, and you can't afford to make careless mistakes. Easy papers also aren't in favour of the better students.
My tuition teacher told me that students tend to make a lot of careless mistakes for easier papers... 😞
