Hi everyone,
I’m one of the founders of StudyLah, a Singapore edtech company focused on primary school maths.
Since launching earlier this year, we’ve seen really strong uptake, with more and more families joining the platform. It’s been great to see children coming back regularly to practise and parents sharing positive feedback. There’s been a lot of work behind the platform, both on the educational content and the technology, and we’re continuing to improve it.
The idea actually came from my own experience during my child’s PSLE year. There were plenty of maths questions and assessment books around, but I found that understanding why an answer was wrong was often the harder part. My child would check the answer at the back, think he understood it, and then make exactly the same mistake a couple of weeks later.
That’s one of the problems we’re trying to address with StudyLah.
The platform covers P1 to P6 Maths, following the Singapore MOE syllabus. Our questions are developed and reviewed with experienced Singapore educators, including former MOE teachers, and cover both school exam and PSLE standards.
One thing we’ve put quite a bit of work into is how mistakes are explained. When a child gets a question wrong, Lah, the tutor built into the platform, walks them through the solution out loud, step by step. She highlights key information, draws bar models, marks up diagrams and explains the working, a bit like having a teacher at the whiteboard.
We also wanted StudyLah to be accessible to everyone, so there’s an always-free plan with daily maths practice, topic drills and exam papers. It’s not a limited trial, and there’s no credit card or payment required. Families can continue using the free version for as long as they like. There’s also a Premium option for those who want more practice.
If you’d like to see how Lah teaches, there’s a small demo where your child can try a few questions without creating an account: https://www.studylah.com.sg/try

I’m sharing this here because I know many parents are always looking for ways to help their children with maths. If you give it a try, I’d genuinely appreciate your feedback, good or bad. Happy to answer any questions here!
Thanks!
Vanessa
