The rules regarding use of rented property needs to be tweaked to prevent abuse. For e.g. those using the rented address CANNOT own a property etc..


Distance priority is to allow students to get into a school near their house. NOT a means for the rich to cherry pick and gain access to a school not near their house by renting a nearby place near the school.

There is no reason to allow the use of rented address if the parent already own a property.

Parent trying to get a school not near their owned place should be discouraged by disallowing use of rented address.

Must introduce Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) so that no one should just rent an address only days before P1 registration. For example, with the TOP of d'leedon last week, plus very good odds in this year p2c balloting for Nanyang (30 vs 25 seats), i m sure a lot of parents will die die rent their way in...

Yes. Shld hv a MOP for rented flat. e.g Min 3 years. But after this yr P1 registration. govt no mention abt any improvement leh? Very quiet.

Suggested before that those who just rent or bought a nearby housing within a certain period be given less priority.
